First off we have some detail on Seisatsu's YN Engine. It's called the "Tsunagari Tile Engine" and he's making quick progress of it. It looks really promising, with goals being to enable not only YN being playable in other formats, but also fangames to have a new way of being made with new features. Check out his thread here:

The final showcase I have for you this month (gosh, next month will come soon...) is a daring one. Cupcake has undertaken a daunting task of compiling Yume Nikki in manga format. Now don't get riled up yet, she's putting a strong focus on less speech, more art. It looks like it'll be more of an art book in the end, and Cupcake's art looks simply marvelous. For all amerifriends out there, we hope you had a wonderful July 4th... what was that again? Inependance day or something... I don't know. Mobs would kick me for forgetting. Anyway, aside from the greetings, I would like to state that the monthly news post will be done shortly (like tomorrow or this week), but obviously it is a teeny weeny bit late. I've had a hell of a life recently, so cut me a break.

Due to popular demand, I've added a board for .flow (/flow), I'll update the menus in the morning. We need banners! And posts!

This is just to let you guys know, but I'm removign /p/ because it really is completely dead pretty much. Tokuto has said that she may still be interested in making a fangame, but she's just way too busy with other projects, so /p/ is over. If the project ever comes back, I'm sure it can manage in a thread on /fg/ just fine.

Okay so I'm starting something awesome. It's a monthly news-thing that I'm sure will rock your socks off. I'm not exactly sure how I'll be going about this, it's kind of difficult with this limited news system. You can make comments and chat about this in /sugg/, where this post will be stickied until the next monthly post.

I'm still getting around to playing all these fangames, but so far I really like Moga's 'May' which has a very unique art style and is more than a little buggy, but shows huge promise nonetheless. Another awesome project worth mentioning is 'Dream vs. Dream' a fighting game being made by an anonymous user with M.U.G.E.N, and he's shown to have some good motivation and a great 'team' helping him with music and graphics. The IRC is under new management? Yes! It's primarily run by Praesul, Mobling, and Misanthea now, so give them your highest respect there. Except Mobling, he's kinda dumb. They're the triad congress of #uboachan, so what goes by one, goes by all of them. If you don't know about the IRC, check the links on the left. Be sure to stop by the rules page first, because the channel is really ruthless.

Saya-chan (aka Zanaveth) is making an SDL port of Yume Nikki, I think that's really awesome. With that, future ports are just around the corner. Wii, DS... Just about anything! No links yet, but expect awesomeness. Saya-chan is a really cool bro!

Saya-chan also has compiled the YN sound files into an OST, check that out in /media/: YN OST Project Enjoy YN on your iPod thingys or all your newfangled whatchacallits.

The Pipi thread is back in /o/! I'm sure most of you are happy about that. Go draw and stuff: Woo woo!

Future projects are being prepared and will be announced at a later date, so be excited about some really neat things that are soon to come.

Regarding the crisis in Japan, kikiyama was contacted by our fellow channer Leizanami-chan, and found to be okay, well away from where the tsunami hit. Competor, Camellia, and Sekkenya are also fine. Camellia and hellnian have asked for everyone to keep those affected in their thoughts/prayers, and I ask this of you guys as well.

so I decided I hated the menu, and made a new one because even the new mobile site sucksrocks. I've moved some stuff around behind the scenes, hopefully things will move a touch smoother and moderating the place should be a bit easier. I don't think I've broken anything this time, either!

The old IRC web client is kinda sucky so I've replaced it with Mibbit. Let me know how it goes!

It took me a few weeks, but I've finally got /o/ working again. The whole thing is a lot cleaner and more organised now too, so hopefully next time it bugs out it'll be a lot easier to fix. When it breaks again (and it will) someone let me know! I can't fix problems if nobody tells me about them.

I'm gonna work on animations soon, I should be able to implement that without too much hassle this time. Stay tuned!

Due to (somewhat) popular demand I'm scrapping /a/ and replacing it with /n/ - NEET. This board will be a little bit /a/ and a little bit /jp/. I wanted to spread /a/'s scope a little and decided it might be more effective to just make a new board. I'm also gonna clean up the sidebar and this news page a litte.

Added a "last 50 posts" feature that was requested on /sugg/. That Yume 2kki thread might be a bit more readable now. If you think 2kki deserves its own board bug me on /sugg/ about it.

I've set up a temporary menu-switcher for anyone who doesn't like the new menu. It's not a permanent fix as you'll need to click the link to switch every time you visit the page but it's a start. I'm going to work on the colours on the new menu to try and bring in a bit of contrast.

Fixed the locked/sticky images and also made the link text a bit darker. Hopefully everything should be looking pretty good now!

I'm working on setting up some custom stylesheets, since Burichan is getting a bit boring. Last time I tried this I broke all sorts of stuff but I seem to be doing okay this time.

/lit/ is coming up soon, maybe in the morning.

I've written up a new stylesheet and I'm going to make it the site default to distinguish us from the rest a bit. The old default style (Burichan) is still selectable, along with a few others by clicking the links at the top of the page. Think the new style can be improved? Let me know on /sugg/ and I'll get to fixing it.

Fixed up the 500 errors people were having, same problem as last August. I know how to identify it and how to fix it this time though, so problem solved.

Image posting is broken, the error is soemthing I've never come across and google is absolutely no help. This could take me a while. Text posting is still fine, though. Sorry for the trouble :(

Downtime over, crisis averted. The private server was missing one of the perl modules, and I finally figured out how to fix it. Things should be a lot smoother from here on out. And this time I remembered to test everything before I said it's all okay.

I'm fiddling around with the site a little, expect some downtime. Hopefully it won't be too long, maybe there'll be none at all.

Done, no downtime. Things might be faster now. I've moved the server from shared hosting to a private machine, we'll see how this benefits the site. Spam in /a/ cleaned up yet again, and now I've taken preventative measures: there's now a half-hour delay required between image posts. I'm not going to keep it like this permanently, just until the spammer gives up. Apologies for any hassle this may cause, and more apologies for not thinking of this earlier.

Looks like it worked, for now. Of course, if spam shows up on another board remember to report at least one of them, to make sure I see it.

Also, i'm slowly setting up a chatbot for IRC. If you have any feature ideas, post them in this thread or PM BattlerUshiromiya on IRC.

I've experimented with moving threads from board to board. I spent the last 80 minutes shifting the three /mado/ cosplay threads to /cos/. Let me know if you find any broken links or anything.

I'll look at shifting threads from /ot/ and /yn/ to /fg/, hopefully the process will be a little faster now that I know what has to be done. Done, took 3.5 hours. i'll be happy if I don't have to do that again.

Fansequels board added, and placed in a new Meta category (along with /cos/ and /yume/) to keep things a little more organised. I forgot to add /cos/ to the main menu last time, so I've fixed that too.

I've also set up a java-based IRC client. To get into our channel click on IRC on the news page menu or #uboachan Web Client on the side menu.

Cosplay board added, as requested. Go use it :3

I'm scrapping /legend/ and /wg/. I made /legend/ for a small group of people, and if they suddenly decide they want to post Soul Eater ( >:| ) they can do it in /a/. Wallpaper threads can go in /ot/. The rest of the boards are here to stay.

Also, as of this post, small/unimportant updates will go in /sugg/. I'm making a few changes here and there but nothing that really warrants a whole newspost each time.

Sorry about all the spam guys, there were complications with my broadband relocation and there wasn't a lot I could do about it. Hopefully it won't get that bad again.

As requested in /sugg/, I've added /yume/, general dream and dream discussion board. And I did it without breaking things this time.

Sorry if you were caught in the downtime, had a little snafu while I was working on favicons, did some damage to the code. I'll ask the guy who wrote it for some help before I try and do anything I shouldn't.

I'm gonna get to work on individual favicons for each board, as well as images for each filetype in /media/, lock+sticky images, and maybe some more banners.

Everything important is fixed. Oekaki applet is running okay, banners are up, so far everything's okay. I'm going to write up a custom stylesheet and filepost images for /media/ when I've got some time spare.

/o/ is still broken. Java doesn't like running properly on Windows 7 x64 and I can't troubleshoot /o/ until I've fixed the Java problem on my end. I'm working on it, I haven't forgotten or anything.

Edit: Fixed it by installing the new beta Firefox, that seems to co-operate with Java okay. /o/ should be fixed now. I'd elaborate but I'm sure nobody cares. With that, the site should be fully operational.

So yep, new board. Thanks a lot weedy, I owe you one. I'm still figuring out Wakaba, so it may be rough for a little while until I've worked out all the intricacies, but we're functional and that's what counts. Stylesheets are broken, but i'm working on it.

I've set up boards for most of the important Yume Nikki characters, plus a wallpapers board and a general Yume nikki board. You'll notice Poniko/Uboa are together, as are Monoko/Monoe. Don't like it? Post in the thread in /sugg/, I'm open to suggestions. I've also set up a few off-topic boards, some as personal preference and some at request.
