Hi /yume/, I'm not into discovering dreams much but my latest left me with a question. Are you able to scream/call for help in dreams? Last night in my dream I was being mauled by a FUCKING TIGER and my screams for help were sorta muted/muffled, and I was trying my hardest. Nothing was holding down my mouth. Scary shit, /yume/.

I used to have the problem where I could NOT scream for help, which was mostly because my real vocal cords were sleep-paralyzed and the reaction to scream was enough to want a real screm... and it translated to the dream and I knew why I couldn't scream but kept trying anyway 8T semi-lucidity is a bitch sometimes. On the inverse, one time I tried singing and woke up sleep-singing. I sounded awful.

I can talk to people and even shout if I want to, but once something happens and I try calling for help, I suddenly can't make a sound. Brr.
That feeling is the worst. After I get killed in the dream I wake up, and find out that my mouth was muffled by the pillow.I was literally SCREAMING. I could tell by the drool.

Well I now I can yell at people in dreams, but I can't yell when I'm in need of help or dying.Once I was turned into a statue by these kids who were trying to disguise themselves as a dinosaur. I tried screaming and I could only hear myself screaming in my mind. Afterward, I could see other statues (shaped as dinosaurs oddly) and I could hear their screams in my mind but not in my ears.

I remember waking up, feeling more scared than I ever had been in my life. I tried screaming for help twice (I was trying to shout "DAD!!"), but I was completely unable to breathe for a few moments, let alone make a sound.'Perhaps it's for the best that I have zero recollection of what I was dreaming.

I can never talk in my dreams. My words come out as wheezes, and I have to try really hard for even that.
I've had recurring nightmares in the past which ultimately leave me screaming at something which is about to kill me. But whenever I try and scream no sound comes out of my mouth, even though I can feel the strain of my throat like it would feel when I could normally scream.
I just now realized, after starting my own dream journal and FINALLY remembering my dreams, that I never talk in my dreams. I take on a role similar to Nick Carraway, where I just spectate other people's lives. Either that, or I'm just timid. I never have dreams where I NEED to scream, though.
>>453I can scream in my dreams. It was my trigger when I was a kid.Back then, I had pretty awful dream with grim shit like 7 headed black horses with shark theet and stuff. As soon I was aware I was uin a dream, I screamed until I reached a certain state:the waking scream. This scream wasn't something a human could produce. But screaming like that could awake me during terrifying dreams. Good times! Also, I remember a drean where I had a discussionwith my subconscious. Shit was so cash.
