beginning stage- mado is in complete bliss over her newfound world.
secondary- mado starts to see some of the ugliness of her dreams, and avoids/denies their existence. (closes her eyes)
third stage; Mado has come to realize that her dream world is horrific, and she can no longer repress her fear, sadness, and anger.
The climax of the book (there will be two)
Is when she sees her friend Poniko will not look her in the eye (assuming but never stating she was a close real life friend) and goes on a rampage. Uboa, you know the drill.
She refuses to sleep, playing Nasu all night and day until finally she collapses and inevitably has to face her fears.
Now the dream world has become so twisted and malformed that she sees the ghost of her former self (in hell). She abandons reason and tries to destroy all remnants of (herself and the dream world) to little avail, She speaks to Kyuu kyuu, (he is the only one that speaks) he warns her of miscellaneous things, (you'll see!) She breaks down and goes to the door, sees face (her ultimate nightmare) wakes up, and decides the only thing she can do is kill herself.
