I'm sorry but I hope shaft stays away from this. I have yet to see anything of theirs that would actually fit yume nikki. then again, all anybody can find me are mostly openings and endings of anime with very limited animation and the only thing "quirky" about it is that they use OMG SKETCHY LINES
I will probably be heart broken though if anyone but studio 4C does it.. Just watching the scene where Nishi meets god in mind game had me hooked on the idea.

So you've never actually watched a SHAFT-made series, then?

I usually like their style and I especially enjoyed SZS. But they can also get self-indulgent and wanky at times. Either way, a Yume Nikki anime would be hard to adapt in an effective way, no matter what studio was producing it.

Well, I'll give you that. They aren't exactly the best studio ever, but when they do something right (SZS), they do it great.
A lot of their stuff is just awful. Paniponi Dash, for instance.
However, if a YN anime is done and ABe Yoshitoshi is not involved somehow, I'm gonna throw a brick through someone's window.
