Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what exactly is that thing on the top of the title screen?
if you look at it hard enough, they're japanese characters spelling yume nikki..

It being Japanese characters does make sense, but I can't see them. Mostly because I have no idea what I'm looking for. I'll take your word for it.
The hiragana for Yume Nikki (at least according to Wikipedia) is ゆめにっき.
