Seeing all the worlds in fluid detail would be awesome. Like paintings come to life.I'd think I'd cream myself if I saw the Toringen on screen.

But who would play Madotsuki?
What if it were all a combination of stop motion, drawn animation, and live action? It could be amazing.I think Madotsuki and co would have to be stop motion puppets for best effect.

>>222CORALINE FUCK YEARRRoh man.. Maybe even have Muppets for certain things. Y'know, like Labrynth. Just bust out all this crazy shit with all these intricately designed muppets of the seemingly random critters.. Like the red eyes or NASU.. or that huge face in the wall.Even if all these things were compressed into an hour, it'd be amazing.

Pia delivers! Now these are only quick, terrible shoops, but I wanted to see how Masadepp would look. XDAlso the reason why I wanted Johnny Depp was not because I'm a caucasianfag who doesn't want an Asian Masada, but because of the way Johnny has a talent for stiff, awkward, socially deprived characters. So there! :'D

FUCK YES. <3
For you who wanted to see a Toriningen on screen - It's not top notch, but at least an idea of how it might look! XD

If you think about it long and hard enough, you will realize Tim Burton and YN's sensibilities come from radically different places, and mixing the two together is a recipe for a depressingly lame disaster.
>>3642Not necessarily. In Yume Nikki, SO much is left to your imagination that you could keep interpreting it forever. I don't know about you, but I'd love to see different renditions of Yume Nikki seen through the eyes of different creative minds.
Only if there were not a single spoken line in the entire movie. It would be... damn weird. Actually oh god I don't know if I want it
No. I don't want to see Yume Nikki adapted into a teenager movie. I don't want a second Alice with rebellious juvenile stuff in every corner. I don't want an umpteenth Johnny Derp.Yume Nikki is a game. I am always pleased to experience original games, books, movies... but I think they should stay as they are.>>3642I totally agree. Though I think most of Burton's latest movies are total failures. So far away from his ingenious early works.I can only think about Lynch or Svankmajer there. Last edited 10/06/16(Wed)05:10.

tim burton doesn't really fit with yume nikki mostly because his works are more gothic looking than crazy surreal
Burton makes things too comically dark, to the point of being whimsical. If anyone were to make a Yume Nikki movie I'd want it to be the producers of The Cell and Re-Cycle. I actually think it'd be done better in Korean horror style, they know what the fuck they're doing.
>>3747im so happy to see someone bring this up. the cell was a brilliant, brilliant movie, my goodness. visually amazing and creepy as get out, too.
>>3761Only thing that made me rage at The Cell was J-Lo.
>>3718THIS. We need Studio 4°C, not Tim Burton.

this is the worst thing i've seen all day.the thought of mixing the genius of yume nikki with the utter shit burton craps out ..makes me want to jump off a building madotsuki-style
as a fan of the original stories his alice in wonderland pissed me off so muchcoraline had fucking nothing to do with time burton btw. thats why it was good. and it is the closest thing we will ever have to a yume nikki movie realisitcally.

Sometimes a crossover works... sometimes. But I agree that YN, at least, would not, especially if Burton was in charge.
>>3747I think Lynch would actually do a wonderful job.

Very no. Tim Burton would try to sweeten and westernize the ever loving shit out of it.I'd rather see a Japanese director do it and frankly I'd rather it be an anime series rather than a movie. One effect per episode, each episode revealing a little something about Madotsuki: One half of an episode showing her daily life before it fell apart, the other half in the dream world.Over time we start seeing how real events correspond to the dreams.

>>4472/t/ the animu? Yeah, no thank you.I'd rather see it done by Lynch. Just because YN is Japanese doesn't mean we need animu to fuck it up, Lynch's movies definitely have the right feel for it. No "Mado was raped" bullshit, just a black and white film that matches the atmosphere and events of the game, and ends just as abruptly. That would be amazing.

No... I don't think Tim Burton could do it justice. If Yume Nikki were an animated movie, would it be like Angel's Egg? I think it would.

A mix of Svankmajer, Lynch and Gaiman. It needs to be as avant garde, mysterious and plotless as possible. No made up derpy backstory.
Burton sucks. Get the guy who actually did Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline to do it instead.
WOULD YOU LOOK AT THIS PEARL I FOUND ON PAGE 7!I can see Depp playing him, but not Burton directing. Gore Verbinski might fit on the other hand, though.

The first time I saw Adrien Brody, I thought he was Masada come to life. So no, not Depp. >:
It's too bad Satoshi Kon died. he would've been the best choice to make a film version of Yume Nikki.
>>6524This. I think the only thing Burton could contribute to YN is publicity.Disregarding that, am I the only one who doesn't want Bishie-sada in any possible YN film? Masada looks like a fucking alien in-game, dammit.

Maybe Satoshi Kon could play Shitai!
No.
He could probably pull it off, but that's not to say he'd make it interesting. His style's starting to wear thin. That, and there's the possibility that he'll take a few too many "artistic liberties" like he did with Alice in Wonderland.>On prior versions, Burton said "It was always a girl wandering around from one crazy character to another, and I never really felt any real emotional connection." His goal with the new movie is to give the story "some framework of emotional grounding" and "to try and make Alice feel more like a story as opposed to a series of events."
