You know what really grinds my gears?
Standing up in the morning, the TV downstairs running on some idiotic music channel, when this song plays
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIfmu-NL0DY

this happened about 10 times to me now, and the first few notes ( in the background ) sound like the titel music from Yume Nikki to me.
Just the first two notes. Every time i turn my head in hope i would see something yume nikki related, but then it's just some retarded song.
The title theme:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQ0m26mWTLs

Anyone encountered a similar situation?
Like you think you heard some of the YN music just to be disappointed soon after?

>> No.6335   [Delete]   [Edit]

ehh, i don't hear it
and i never associate anything on TV with yume nikki 'cause i know it'd never be intentional ;-;

>> No.6337   [Delete]   [Edit]

Grab a guitar and play
--5-0-0-3-0-0-5-0-0-3-0-0- and so on. ( On any string )
You might as well try a piano.
The first two notes are in this stupid song, too.
And i hate that fact.

>> No.6338   [Delete]   [Edit]

Some office phones tend to remind me of the song from the room where you get the flute in the mall area. It doesn't really bother me, though.

Does anyone have the earlier versions of Yume Nikki? I've heard that they are somewhat different from the current .10.

Why not ask Kikiyama for earlier versions? He's contactable.

>> No.6293   [Delete]   [Edit]

Because he's a Japanese person. I don't think the OP can speak Japanese.

(If I knew Japanese, and I had the Japanese version of that possibly apocryphal interview, then I would ask him if he did that, as well, but...)

Okay, so Yume Nikki gets an anime. You, Anonymous, are in charge of the Opening Theme, it appears before every episode.

What song would you choose? An upbeat one? A melancholy one? Anywhere in-between?

Remember, the director says this has to represent the feel of the entire game.

I still like the fanmade few OP videos, as that's really all I have to judge from at the moment, but you're right as to what makes a well-composed OP; those nico ones are very simplistic. Anyways, it's great to see you're taking this on as a serious project. As for the song, I'll need to give it a listen once I have the time to download it properly (I recently reinstalled my computer's OS, which wiped it clean, and haven't reinstalled all of my programs yet, including audio/media players, etc.) but I've heard plenty of Ohtsuki's work before, so I expect it to be good.

I like YUKI, so this fanmade OP appeals to me. Not entirely sure what would be a perfect fit, parts of this work whereas others don't quite.

>> No.6320   [Delete]   [Edit]

I like the agehachou OP on youtube, it's pretty much perfect... stuttering tempo and a sort of Latin feel

Even though it's a fast major key song it feels a little sad

In any case television show openings are usually engineered to get your attention so you'll watch the show, not to be the show itself condensed into two minutes

Yeah I would just do it yourself, they definitely look like theyd be easy to make if you printed out a guide picture. Pretty sure you just put down the beads and then iron them so they melt together a bit right?

>> No.6258   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>6254
Yep. It's just kind of time-consuming and I'm not sure about the cost of the supplies.
Oh, and one wrong move knocks all the beads off the tray.

is it just me or is there a really familiar sound in this song around 0:40?
it reminds me a lot of the running noise for the little creature you get midget effect from.

A while ago I came across this
http://www.alejandro-ace-translator.co.cc/2010/09/17/yume-nikki-diario-de-mis-suenos/
It's a Spanish translation.

What do you guys think?

>> No.6205   [Delete]   [Edit]

The only text in the game is the menu so...
And the fact there is no real story to it...

>> No.6216   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>6205
Most stuff on Yume Nikki that have text (the tutorial, NASU, the 8-bit menu, etc) are images, so it actually does take a little bit of effort to translate it. Still procrastinating on my Portuguese translation.

>> No.6220   [Delete]   [Edit]

Speaking of which, the "famiryigeemu" (Family Game) on the console is untranslated in the English version.

Not at all, I am just pointing out the large amount of Toriningens there were.

Carry on.
