It's a pretty silly thing I found out.

First, get on your chair while you're dreaming and equip an effect.
After that, instead of getting off the chair, press enter so that you can move while still sitting on your chair.
Normally, if you equipped an item like the bike, you will be able to move around in your chair, but at a much faster speed!
Going in the nexus and pressing 5 drops the effect you used, leaving you on your feet. If you try to enter the menu, Madotsuki will say "dame" like when she cannot do something, but you will actually enter the menu!
The glitch doesn't stop here, though. If you go back and equip an effect and use its special ability by pressing 1, you won't be able to enter the menu again until you drop the effect.
If you go back to your room, the chair will be gone, but will come back next dream.

Just proving that the chair can cause a LOT of glitches.

Also pic unrelated

That's depressing, considering how long it takes to get there.

Well, to tell you the truth,I got there by taking shortcuts I made through RPGMaker, but still it pissed me off to find out that I couldn't get there on the chair.

Why is it wet, then?
I see that it's a vocaloid, but i fail to grasp the meaning of the wetness.

>> No.6500   [Delete]   [Edit]

Why is Masada reading a book about fellatio?

>> No.6501   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>6499
It's Tako Luka, one of those little "vocaloid meme spinoff characters". Someone somewhere thought her hair looked like an Octopus, and yeah. The reason it's wet is probably because it's an octopus.

It's hard to explain.

I tried Uboa as well and at first Akinator answered "Nothing", then "A ghost" (and then finally Uboa). Those are pretty interesting results, if you ask me.

does anyone else find yume nikki extremely calming? I had a huge blowout with my family earlier, and as soon as I started playing and wandering around the dream worlds, I instantly just felt this huge sense of relief. something about the kind of familiar, repetitive background music, the quiet little sounds, and the interesting backgrounds and images kind of..just puts me at ease. it also helps me with my art block.

so..how does yume nikki make you feel? does it have any sort of positive or calming effect on you guys?

>> No.6414   [Delete]   [Edit]

I can see how it can be relaxing. I don't really do much though, irl. Kind of a loner, stay inside, watch meh animuu.

I would say I feel... at home... playing YN more than relaxed, cause there's some maps that freak me out or put me on edge, and some that are really warm and welcoming. But yea, overall I just feel like I'm back at home.

>>6414
yeah, I'm not much of an outdoors-y person either. I never have been..orz
but I can see how yume nikki might put you on edge a little. like, if I'm stressed, I don't just go into the guillotine room, derp.

I find the music for Yume Nikki very calming, but like the game itself it has a large propensity to take on a creepy atmosphere.

I think that's really dependant on your mood and thoughts while you play. If you're on edge before you play the game, or just simply in the wrong mood, those feelings are simply exacerbated by the game. The game does a fantastic job at emulating a dream-like atmosphere in my opinion, as it can easily be interpreted many different ways, simply by emotion.

The experience you have is highly influenced by the emotion response you give. Obviously a victim of abuse would have a harder time with something that has (perceived) themes of abuse than somebody who is oblivious to that pain. Coupled with the fact that the game makes it's point mostly through undertones, it can be quite disturbing to somebody who recognizes the emotion within the present atmosphere. Quite like a dream, each experience one has with Yume Nikki is unique to them, as it is an emotion and personal experience.

tl;dr Your personal Yume Nikki experience can say a lot about you.

it's relaxing if you stay in the right areas. Snow world, forest world, pink sea, places like that are relaxing. The world with hands and eyes and crap everywhere? not so much.

when i first started playing YN back in jan/feb, i read this article that was apparently written by kikiyama (no, it's not that interview) or by someone who was pretending to be kikiyama.

i don't remember all of it, but the parts i remember are that mado was based off a neighbour kikiyama knew irl who was a bit weird and didn't have many friends. however kikiyama became friends with her. she told him/her that she had scary dreams often which woke her up at night (often followed by screaming), and when he/she realised just how weird madotsuki was, he/she distanced himself from her.

one day, while her parents were gone for three days, she woke up in the middle of the night screaming really loudly, probably from a terrifying nightmare, and threw herself off her balcony.

can anyone find this article, if it still exists? i remember reading it a while ago so it might be gone now.
i'm pretty sure it wasn't on uboachan, but my memory is a bit foggy as to where i read it.

its probably fake. The site itself says that Yume Nikki isnt anything but walking around and exploring.

i just read in the news that some people seem to have contact to kikiyama.

this made a little curious. is it known whether he considers yume nikki to be "done"? since it's still called v0.10.

Nobody has ever come forth and said 'I'm Kikiyama' and this 'not bugging him because it's impolite/he's a NEET/he's private' crap isn't cutting it anymore. Nobody can create something like this and not get some recognition.
