I've built a monster of a PC recently, and now Yume Nikki doesn't want to run right.

I start it up, and it just plays the music and shows the start screen. I try selecting different stuff, hitting enter, no movement and no selection sounds.
If I alt+tab out, I hear the selection noise and it go to the next screen, and if I alt+tab back, it'll go to the next screen after that, but still no controlling.

These are my specs, and to add, I've got a digital out to hdmi converter and am using a 22-inch flat screen as my monitor, running in 1600 x 900 resolution.

I've tried setting it to different compatibility modes, running it in 640 x 480, 256 colours, etc. but it's not quite working.

If anyone could help me out, or at least point me to a forum or site that could help or point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it. Plus, you'd be helping out a fellow YN fan ;D

Well, I took it in, and they backed up some stuff, and said that the harddrive was wearing out when they were doing it

Ah shit, I see what you mean. After a demolishing System32 worm, I've always made backups of precious data so I can reformat without consequences.

Ha HA! I got it to work! I just kept screwing around in the nVidia control panel, and it finally worked.

I think my problem may have had something to do with threaded optimization (since I have an Intel Core 2 Quad). Apparently, it needs to be off. As far as I can tell, that's it, but I'll mess around a bit more to make sure, in case anyone else has this problem.

Nope, totally wrong. I went to play it today, and it's back to its old tricks.
