I refer to that world as "Magicant" because it reminds of Magicant in the first Mother game (but seems more graphically similar to Mother 2/EarthBound).

Hey, I dunno how many of you have seen this or not, but apparently in the Mother world there seems to be some sort of game error or something. It's shown in the following video:

(You can skip near the end if you want to see the "glitch" in action.)

I don't know how this is done, but the reason I'm bringing this up is the fact the game screen gradually gets more and more corrupted and eventually you actually wake up from the dream. The game does not crash. This leads me to believe this may have been done intentionally. It may be a tip of the hat to other old games that actually do crash like that, or even some experience Kikiyama had with Mother that may have scared him or something (you usually wake up when something scary happens in a dream). Could anyone give thoughts, or maybe look into the game files to see if such an event is there, or if it's legitimately a glitch?

As far as I can tell, it's set up so that you have a 1/3 chance of being able to activate the "glitch" when you fall asleep.

If you can't do it, you have to wake up and try again.

No, the empty room with that weird wall is lit on its own. You don't need to use the lamp there.

what if all of the important characters in Madotsuki's dreams are actually based on people she knew in real life? Poniko was her best friend who became a prostitue for a pimp who looks like Uboa, Monoko was her disabled friend who died and Monoe was Monoko's sister who commited suicide after her sister died, Toriningen was a bully, Seccom Masada was piano teacher who tried to help Madotsuki, dead dude on the road was her father who died in a car accident, etc.

The bottom of Mr. Mars looks more like a puddle than a foot.
The eye on the TV looks more like a rice ball than an eye.
Lots of things in this game look different than what they seem to be interpreted as. Stay visualant and open your mind to other possibilities.

Do they have any significance? Do they represent anything, or do you think they were just put there by Kikiyama to creep us out?

I've seen them here and there, mostly in forest areas. One teleports you to the teleport maze, and I saw one in a secluded area in a forest next to a tree. One Let's Play video mentioned that he got to it once, but not how; anyone know?
