Did you guys know you could ride around on Mado's chair throughout the game? I just noticed it.

>> No.5378   [Delete]   [Edit]

Yeh, if you go back to the chair, get on it normally, and use the bike effect, when you leave the chair you look like you aren't using the bike but you at over 4x speed, it's useful until you need to use another effect.

Has been in this part of the game before? I let a toriningen get me in the red maze and was sent here, the red square suggests there may be more to this area if I had gotten here some other way than being trapped, but Idk, any Ideas?

Thanks man, also I came across this area- and in the building there are lilies or white roses blocking the way, is there an effect I can use to get past, or is the whole area a dead end?

Don't kill a users fun. What the hell is a yum nikki imageboard for if the users can't talk about what they find? Who gives a dick about if it's been posted already, ignore the thread if you don't want to see it. Hide it even. Don't discourage posting. There is nothing interesting to talk about in /yn/ unless you're talking about someone playing the game.

>>5367
Enjoy the game. And to keep a distance from idiots, just keep things you want to say from your playthough in one thread, I'm sure everyone can be happy this way.

Is this more remixes or music inspired by the game or something?

Both. It even has a rap about the game.

What appeals to you so much about this game?

To me, it's the atmosphere. It's just so depressing. Mindless hole-faced people sludging through sewer waters, number speaking natives, freaky berserk cheerleaders out to send you into infinite desolation. There really is no game like it. The experience for me was great not knowing what would come next.

You?

Why i like it... There is so much to find, and even after you find it all.. THERE IS STILL MORE TO FIND! you can never find everything.

That and just how much debate this game has brought. i love debating.

>> No.5345   [Delete]   [Edit]

what truley apeals to me about the Yume Nikki series is that it's so mysterious and so much is unknown about it. The gameplay is simple which is nice and in general it's just a breath of fresh air in todays generation of complicated/ repetitive games

>> No.5352   [Delete]   [Edit]

What I love about Yume Nikki is how it's so much of an experience when playing it for the first time, especially without guides. It was a real emotional roller coaster, especially the ending. I wish I could experience it all again, but it never is quite the same when I go back to play it...

>> No.5354   [Delete]   [Edit]

It's the same with me, for any YN game, whether it be the original or a spin-off.

The feeling of not knowing what lies behind each teleporter or door. Sure, if you revisit worlds and such, you may know what you're going into, but most of the time, you have no clue.

Also, I love the emotion that is conveyed in certain(actually, most) worlds/scenes. Even if it's just dead silent, there's something to be said about the emotions the player feels. Take the train scene, for example. That absolutely broke my heart, even though almost nothing was happening. It was such a hopeless, lonely scene that I could actually relate to myself. That's another thing; I think it's very easy for most players to relate to Madotsuki, since she's so average and realistic.

hey /yn/
sorry to bother you but, is there anything that can be done in this part of the desert?
It's such a random little area with nothing there.

If you're watching carefully, the game pauses for just a split second (like a single frame) while it loads the new area.

If you feel like trying something exciting:

  1. Go to Candle World, stab the Toriningen, use Medamude to escape
  2. Use the hyper-speed glitch

3. Return to Candle World (But first start playing this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOJsZd-W2kQ)

4. Get ready for the most intense high speed chase of your life.

The longest I managed to last was 7 seconds.

If this were more accurate it'd be the best YN-related thing besides YN.

Also, lol@Monoko being made in 3D custom girl.

I was doodling one day in my notebook and when I finished this little guy I immediately thought "Yume Nikki." Seems ambiguous, yet Freudian enough to fit into the style of the game. Thoughts?

If you are on the bench at the sky garden, pressing up makes Madotsuki look up a bit.

Mado looking towards the sky; this strikes me as sad :(

>> No.5284   [Delete]   [Edit]

The default is looking at the ground because she's shy. It's an effort for her to not look down.

This makes more sense in the subway.

Who is the girl sleeping inside the igloo?

>> No.3593   [Delete]   [Edit]

I myself haven't seen much discussion about her, but that's not to say there hasn't been any. I personally think that the little girl in the igloo is actually Madotsuki's younger self. Which would make sense, if you think about it. If Madotsuki was ostracized as a child, then the could easily translate to her feelings of loneliness in a cold world. The fact that she doesn't wake up or react to much could also be a sign of Madotsuki's resignation to such a loneliness. That's just my spin on it, at least.

>> No.3597   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>3593
It's interesting that there hasn't been much discussion, I thought it was common knowledge around YN fansites who she was or something. It's also pretty interesting that she is shown dreaming. I thought she was the hat and scarf girl, minus hat and scarf. Like 'projecting' herself to block world.

>> No.3599   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>3597
Well, I'm slightly new to the game and the community, so it's not like I'm really aware of all that goes on. Your idea is interesting too, they do look pretty similar if you remove the hat and scarf.

>> No.5279   [Delete]   [Edit]

I considered that maybe Mafurako AND Kamakurako were separate representations of Madotsuki feeling isolated and alternatively invisible, but I like >>3597's idea that Kamakurako is projecting all of the Mafurakos.
