Okay, so I've been thinking about YN theories after I saw a weird dream. In the dream I was basically Madotsuki and I was exploring my dream world.I believe Kikiyama made the game vaguely symbolic in a way that everyone interprets differently. YN doesn't have one theory that's the 'correct' one, everyone has their own theories and those theories are the real ones to those people. Everyone gets individual meanings and stories from the game.In following posts, I'm going to explain how I see certain things in YN. I realize that they are my personal opinions and views, but I thought I might as well post them. Hell, someone might find them interesting. Here we go.

Madotsuki = the player. She's you. Period. She's there to represent you, the player. That's what her name implies too, Madotsuki, "window". She's your avatar in the game. Now that we have that out of the way, I'll start with something that's not often talked about in /t/. The shopping mall world and the witch event. To me the place represents some sort of freedom. Losing yourself in a crowd. The people in the area have no face/eyes, making me feel like they don't see Madotsuki. Or pay attention to her, they're strangers. To me the place is a very positive and enjoyable one. The fact that the witch event occurs there re-enforces the feeling.Madotsuki feels free in there. That's all it represents, freedom and losing yourself in a crowd. Falling and waking up from the dream are a reminder that this sort of freedom is only momentary.

So the green people represent strangers because they have no face. Toriningen however are familiar in some way. They represent friends and family. The toriningen party in the desert is a feeling of social anxiety. The desert if very easy to get lost in, I feel very helpless in there. Madotsuki wanders around until she finds the toriningen party. She's unable to enter it, not because the toriningen don't want her to, but because she feels like she's an outsider. She feels lost and unable to relate to them, and although they're definitely having fun, she doesn't join them. It's her decision and not the toriningen's.

Poniko and Uboa represent the two sides of a single thing. I like to believe they are Madotsuki's psyche. I think there's something very forced about Poniko and her world. It's too bright and happy. I think Madotsuki realizes this.Maybe Poniko is what is expected from Mado. She represents everything that Mado feels like she should be, but isn't. Uboa is there to represent the lying. He's there as if to tell Madotsuki not to pretend to be anything she's not. A reminder, maybe.Poniko also seems like something Madotsuki envies a lot. Again, Uboa is there to tell her that Mado will never be something like Poniko.Lies and the truth. Poniko and Uboa. They represent a lot of things.

I think Monoko might be something similar to Poniko/Uboa. She seems all nice and cute but when the stoplight is used she's something entirely different. She still gives me a different feeling. She's something like how others see Madotsuki maybe. They see her as someone pretty normal, but when you get to know her you realize her life is chaotic and strange. There's so much more to Madotsuki than what meets the eye.I mean overall the whole game is about Madotsuki, you, the player sorting out different feelings inside your head. Good feelings, bad feelings. Mado committing suicide in the end is also symbolic and doesn't necessarily mean things like dying or waking up. I think it means letting go. Letting go of all the unnecessary things.

Kyukyu-kun and the face, to me represents something sexual. I know you're all tired of rape-theories but the first thing that came to my mind when playing the scene was definitely sex.I don't think it represents specifically rape though, but sex in general. What Madotsuki thinks about her sexuality, how it's odd and scary even. It's about discovering yourself as a teenager. We all remember how that went, lol. Face and Madotsuki waking up are feelings of guilt and anxiety.

Masada represents friendships and relationships. He's obviously a good guy in the game. The spaceship crashing means the ending of a relationship. Mars-kun is the following feeling. He's alone and crying silently. It's all very simple and straightforward to me, so no more of that. Shitai represents some sort of hopelessness, I think. You see him, he's dead, there's no one around and nothing you can do. So you try all effects and eventually leave very confused. It's a feeling of something being really wrong and the feeling of hopelessness of not getting any help, and not being able to do anything about it.

Her dreams in general also represent the outside world she's too scared to explore in real life. Notice how most of her dreams are scary and unpleasant? There are positive places and events too, but they're a minority. Maybe she feels like she'd rather stay at home than go outside and feel all of those feeling again. She realizes that there are positive things out there but she feels like the negative ones overpower them. She'd rather not feel anything than risk it and feel bad in order to feel good.
Needs more penis
>>1999Madotsuki PENIS because her PENIS and that's the reason for PENIS too. PENIS however didn't PENIS so Madotsuki felt really PENIS about it. That would explain PENIS too if you just PENIS it enough.Better?

>>2024now it needs more rape
I like this theory, I can relate to a lot of the opinions here, I still think the kyukyu-kun and FACE represnts rape, but that came from first impressions rather than browsing /t/ I mean yeh I'm a fan of Freud but not everything equals penis.Although to me the mall meant her memorys of her life before she became a shut-in, It's hard to paint a picture of what her life must have been like from her dreams, I always saw Masada as her father, who probably left her at an early age, which is why he seems like the most approachable but somehow distant of the characters in her dreams, I'm not certain if there is a mother figure anywhere in there, maybe the famicom house person? That could of been a house she lived in in her past but it's very likely none of the people or events have real meaning and were put there to cause popularity by prevocking lots of discussion and a wide variety of subjective interpretations, sort of like the brief case in pulp fiction, there is most likely no real reason for any of it
