Ok stating my crappy theory forgive me it's my first time here.

Has anyone thought that maybe just maybe. They are all dead? That all the things in her dream are people she knows that passed away? Maybe she is ( sounds so f-ing crazy ) but a murder . I mean the knife and she stabs the NPC's making them go away. Maybe as in if we use the rape theory . Music teacher rapes her she kills him thing. But at the same time he is scared of her.. not very rapist but hey what ever floats your boat. Any way that the people in her dreams are hunting her? Guilty she throws her self down to the ground? I dunno just a theory I always thought that they were died but thats just me . Now share with me your ideas on this?
Oh fail this whole theory sounds odd I'm sorry ;A;

( as for the crappy art thats mine owo )

>> No.718   [Delete]   [Edit]

I don't think she's dead- but I don't think any of the people she sees have actually been alive. They could be composites, mixes of traits in people's she's met, her own fears, how she perceives things. For example, in the case of Poniko, it is doubtful that she actually turned into the Uboa- it's symbolic of something in her that Madotsuki-chan didn't like. She's a recluse, so it's likely she had major underlying issues as well; so I don't think she's a very young child. Probably in her late teens or her twenties, maybe even thirties.
All our dreams are composites of reality and imagination. For example, I once had a dream where I gunned down my mother in a not-walled version of our livng room. However, in the dream world, I had a good reason. Does this mean that my mother actually poses a threat to me, or that I would ever gun her down? No, in the same way my living room does, in reality, actually have walls. Yes, she looked and soundedl like my mother, but she was not my mother- therefore, I doubt Madotsuki would kill anyone. The most horrifying dreams are not ones in which we are forced to submit to others, but the ones that imply that we cannot control ourselves.

Maby everyone is having their own dream with Madotsuki visiting them for some reason(Dunno how phycic maby?). Monoko could be having a post-traumatic stress dream about a car crash (they are extremly disturbing dreams to have and ones involving accidents often depict deformity). Masada's dreams could be related to being excluded during his life by his peers (school friends etc) prehaps because of his lazy eye in his dream it could be exagerated to his eyes being really mad, also being alone could show that he does not want to be around people anymore incase they would reject him (people who have had trouble making friends and socalising do this me included). Have you ever noticed that when you stab an NPC they come back when you re-enter the area? I know that if I have a dream where I die (falling dreams D:) I go back to sleep. This would mean that there is a supernatural twist to it though so I dunno I just like to think that the story shows several peoples stories.

Howdy.
I have a theory, and I will describe it here.

But, fist of all, u may noticied my not so good english. So, please, make an effort to understand me ;_;

My theory is that, Madotsuki had a long term disease, at first make her go to hospitals and stuff, but nothing seemed to work. Then, the disease became worst and worst, till the ultimate state. The Blindness.
That's why she always keep her eyes closed, cuz she cannot see anymore. Also, that's becuz she refuses to leave her room, becuz she's affraid, and too depressed.
The only things she can remember are the things she saw while the disease hadn't take her vision. Such things like Seccom Masada-Sensei, Poniko, Mono-sister. each of then in different circustances.
Well, the only way she can see the world again, ir dreaming, becuz when she's as sleep yhr blackness disapear.

She have a TV with a game, but now it's useless.
She could only walk to her desk and write down her dreams.

Well, it's interesting, but if that's true, how can she play NASU- I mean, you /do/ play NASU, and I'm sure that she didn't see the creatures she sees in her dreams before she went blind. Then there's still the qutestion of corpse-kun, and all the volent and sexual imagery. However, because being in a long-term hospital does require you to submit to pretty much everyone there, I could rationalize some of it with your theory. I'd like to hear your interpretation on those points, though.
I've never heard this theory before, but like I said, I do think it's interesting.

(P.S.: "not so good english" is no excuse for lack of effort. I'm sure you can do better. I only make an effort if you do.)

Hey /t/ I thought you might enjoy this:

http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/

Search things you saw in Madotsukis dreams.
????
New theories/adding onto older theories.

"Ghost
To see your own ghost in your dream, symbolizes aspects of yourself that you fear. This may involve a painful memory, guilt, or some repressed thoughts. Or you may be afraid of death and dying. Alternatively, ghosts are representative of something that is no longer obtainable or within reach. It indicates that you are feeling disconnected from life and society. Try to figure out what the ghosts wants or what it is looking for. Alternatively, the dream may be a calling for you to move on and abandon your outdated modes of thinking and behavior."

Marshmallows

To see or eat marshmallows in your dream, represents timidity and lack of self-confidence. You need to learn to be more assertive and stand up for yourself.

...
Meruto-kun?
Derpderp.

>> No.684   [Delete]   [Edit]

Guillotine
To see a guillotine in your dream, symbolizes anger, hostility and the eruption of strong emotions. You are not using your head and are failing to use your better judgment. You need to think things through before you act.

Behead
To dream that you or someone else is being beheaded, signifies poor judgment or a bad decision that you have made and regretted.

Decapitation
To dream that you are decapitated, signifies that you are not thinking clearly and you are out of control. You have the tendency to act before you think.

Wardrobe
To see a wardrobe in your dream, represents a transitional period or phase in your life. Alternatively, the dream may highlight issues with your self-image and how you portray yourself to the outside world.

"Missing
To dream that you are missing something,
denotes a sense of being out of control and being disorganized."

What was the first thing everyone notices thats different in the room?

"Oh hey! the Famicom is gone!!"

Madotsuki may have originally gone "out" to look for her 'missing' source of entertainment,
but soon finds something better,
scary albeit, but definitely more interesting.

I think she had more fun looking through her dreams and finding 'effects' more than she did playing NASU.

well, there's an aztec looking thing in the background of Eyeball world. Maybe it could represent all the people who looked at her oddly for obsessing over old history.

neon world could have been when she slipped into a rave club or saw those colored bars on the TV, and stared at them for too long. Mado, being imaginative and her extensive knowledge in historical creatures, probably dreamed up all the bizarre creatures in that world.

The spaceship might have been when she accidentally turned onto a Sci-fi channel or when the history channel was talking about the
big bang theory. Masada could be the host of that show, but since Mado had little interest of the subject, she sees him all googly eyed and not very intelligent. usually googly eyes mean derp de derp.

But I'm not really sure about this one, you know? D: Why did she refuse to go outside when she's awake?

maybe she was retired after all those times exploring, or she was just bored with the city she lived in. who knows, really...

I'm not sure if this has been considered, but do you think it's possible that Madotsuki jumped off the balcony just to test if she was dreaming or not? How else could you explain the staircase mysteriously getting on her belcony?

Perhaps she woke up, but still thought she was in a dream, tried pinching herself, which didn't work, then chose a more risky approach at a reality-check, then failed.

UNLESS, she succeeded, and actually WAS in a dream world, which would explain the bell creatures at the end, and the fact that we don't see her body where the blood is. Maybe she just got up and walked off into the next dream area?

Hey /t/, here's a challenge.

Since I've never heard anyone's theories for him, I want to see what you guys can come up with for Tokuto-kun.

Hard mode: nothing obvious or overused like HE'S A BLEEDING VAGINA BECAUSE MADOTSUKI WAS RAPED/AFRAID OF MENSTRUATION DERP DERP

People aren't born hikkikomori.
The death of her therapist if possibly what pushed her over the edge and stopped her from leaving her room anymore.
She was getting by with his help and could still go outside, but after she lost him she couldn't bring herself to go out into the open

>> No.705   [Delete]   [Edit]

no one mentions that he might be tied to the hole in the floor of the room that he is in, or that a face appears to be on him. While it's true that random faces aren't unusual in the game, it still could be significant. Perhaps he was just a representation of normal submitting and conformity; like self-sacrifice. It "bleeds" for you when you speak to it; when you use the cat effect (which already seems like it makes you likable/popular/cute,) he pours faster, so that it would seem he is pouring out of its own will... just my thoughts.

This is what I think;

This game (or even the theory for this game) is the showcase of how human assert the meaning to the subject. Whether it's Kikiyama's intention or not, we already made interpretations for it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dream_argument

All abilities that Madotsuki got have the meaning that could be understood by human but is that only the meaning? We know their purposes, we know what they can help us, but we don't know their real meaning or perhaps the meaning is not exist. We created the meaning for them. We don't really know or perhaps we only know that we know nothing.

Does that mean everything is Meaningless?

No.

So has anyone encounterd the "crink in the neck" event? I've only seen it happen once. What I read was that its not a glich (it has its own spot in the sprite page). So If its ment to be in the game, then, what do you think its ment to be for?

>> No.693   [Delete]   [Edit]

Who knows, the game itself doesn't really have a confirmed point.
There's also sprites for this in the Famicom world, but aren't used. It's pretty interesting.

What is Masada was the one who was raped?

...stay with me here.

He's pathologically shy and introverted, to quote someone else, "couldn't top a kitten". He's heavily intimidated by Madotsuki, especially when she pulls out the knife.

Maybe they were schoolmates, and Masada was the sickly, funny-looking kid who everyone bullied, and Madotsuki befriended him with ulterior motives. To be ridiculous, maybe she violated him with a knife handle.

The spaceship can tie into this too, in the way that he's shutting himself off, trying to forget.

THEORY NUMBUH ONE:

Madotsuki worked at or frequently visited a store that sold Music-related and Videogame-related items, the Catface coin was the store sign/logo, the Cat effect it gave and what it does may be a reference to there being a "Money Cat" in the store, or Madotsuki was working as the mascot and had to wear that as a costume. Seccom was another guy who worked in the store or frequented it(and was obviously a pianist or keyboardist or worked in the part of the store carrying them, and note how he makes a sound from Mario World). Neon World was an old Arcade game Madotsuki saw in the store, the Famicom worlds were a videogame Madotsuki was fascinated with, the Bicycle is how she got to the store, the flute was an instrument she could play, the Aztec imagery and Kalimba music suggest a fascination with world music, the rave monkey and the Toriningen party music representing other genres of music she liked or heard in the store. The Block world is a blurred memory of the city district the store was in, and Eyeball world was this feeling she could never shake off that she was being watched as she rode past this bad or creepy area, the Mall could be a place the store was in, Number world's round inhabitants with legs and the dude who gives you the flute effect represent CDs. The dude who gives Mado the flute could also have been a muse or something, and the place where you find him was a fertility clinic in the mall (note the condom poster and the egg-and-sperm poster inside it).

If you notice, Kyuu-Kyuu is rubbing a rail on stairs outside a door IDENTICAL TO MADOTSUKI'S, except on the other side. i.e. OUTSIDE MADOTSUKI'S ROOM. Face is perhaps what happens when she realizes that she just ran into her waking self? Then freaks out and wakes up?
