Has anyone else noticed that there is no visible diary on Mado's desk? Thoughts?

Picture not really related.

Maybe she carries the diary around with her? Keeps it in a pocket or something.

>> No.3142   [Delete]   [Edit]

Then why can she only write at her desk?

The diary is a ghost. Like the invisible computer in Pokemon Red & Blue.

You know it's easier to write things on a desk, and there's one right next to her bed, so why not...?

that is urotsuki and it's not a portrait, but a house.
are you all blind or what?

>> No.3183   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>3173

I meant it figuratively

what I meant is that, at first glimpse it looks like a perfect family ('mom', 'father' and daughter are present), but to Urotsuki, it is not

>> No.3185   [Delete]   [Edit]

So there's the possibility that she lost her parents when she was a little child, and she can't even remember their faces.

But as far as I know, if somebody dreams about people he/she can't recall their faces, they will appear completely faceless in his/her dreams. I've actually read about this somewhere as well.

And just with the glasses effect enabled, they will appear faceless, but they'll reveal their "true" faces when using the effect, so I guess even if they appear to be a perfect family at first sight, something is actually wrong with her parents.

>> No.3186   [Delete]   [Edit]

Her parents could've been very observing, maybe trying to catch her smoking weed?

The mars event is pretty literal. I don't know why people speculate on it. Some of these may be a little bit of a stretch, but I don't think it's too crazy.

Mars = Egg shaped
Seccom's Spaceship = Sperm shaped
The bump in Seccom's bed = Womb shaped
Entering and exiting Seccom's bed = Sex
Madotsuki's Midget effect = Sperm
The bump on mars = womb shaped
The tiny hole on mars that can only be entered with the Midget (sperm) effect = conception

Giant metal thing next to crying blue thing = abortion

The creator was even a fan of Earthbound, which had it's own infamous (and way too literal) theory about how Giygas was an aborted fetus. (Which was pretty symbolic, but I really don't think it happened.)

I'm just being Freudian instead of literal. Literal meaning, that mars actually represents the planet. My approach to this thread was pretty blunt. It's all my opinion, man.

I like this theory. My theory
Madotsuki 14 years old – events in the world of dreams, in a coma
Madotsuki 16 years old – IRL, out of coma

Parents died in an accident and Monoko didn’t survive in it too. When Madotsuki woke up, the first thing she saw was mutilated body of Monoko and terribly twisted hands - hands of her parents. The girl was strongly shocked by what she has seen.

Her teacher on the piano Masada-sensei, who was suffering from drug addiction, became her guardian.

Madotsuki fell in love with her friend Poniko, who was an ideal of the girl for her. Madotsuki dreamed to be like Poniko, but she was afraid of her feelings, because she knew, that the society would condemn her for wrong love.

Monoko’s sister, Monoe, lost her mind because of the death of her younger sister and she blamed Madotsuki. She wanted revenge and tried to kill Madotsuki, but when frightened Mado was trying to defend, she accidentally killed Monoe with help of a knife.

Am I the only one that finds it a little gruesome the fact that Madotsuki can summon UFO's right after Masada crashes his?

following the masada lover theory its weird that, right after Masada's crash, Madotsuki can use her cat effect (which I suppose represents her charm, to attract other NPCs to her) to lure more UFOs to Mars, maybe to make them crash like Masada did :/

It has probably been posted before, if so, I'm sorry :c

Hmm. Maybe. That does put a rather mean twist on it. Luring the others closer to put her own grieving at ease with other's pain.... Hmm.

Or, on a sweeter line, since Masada is still "alive" (Moving and beeping, at least), she wanted to use her charm-y cat effect to get UFOs to help him. He's hurt, maybe dying, and she tries to get him help. It doesn't work; she's too late, and Mars is telling her that, which is why it's crying...

/brain vomit

I dunno.

Pic Pretty much unrelated.

Hello Uboachan. I have returned...With a theory!

Okie dokie. People have made theories about madotsuki's NASU, her pillows, bed, and everything else BUT...
There is a huge fucking bookcase. Right there.

You see, because Mado never leaves her home, and that her TV is out, there is no way for her to dream about deserts, malls, and forests because she has never really seen them before.
However, it seems that Mado is well read. And when you read a book and it talks about something you dont know about, it is hard to visualize in your head.
When madotsuki reads of such places, her way of imagining it is limited.

If she read about the mall, the book probably said there was a lot of people.

To madotsuki, a few random people wandering is a lot.

>Mado's life was boring

I don't think we're on the same page here. You don't have that many messed up dreams, unless she watches a lot of TV. (She can't the TV's dead.)

OP is right, it is her perception of the world. Unconscious or not.

>> No.3119   [Delete]   [Edit]

Just passing by.

The "book" theory is the first thing I came up after 10 minutes of gameplay, a girl who doesn(t leave her room and so the only thing she could do is read (because the TV is broken and there is a bookshelf), so all of her dreams are made of her readings and imagination. This way I understand the ending: maybe in one book, she read something about death, and because she had no social contact and real understanding of death, she commited suicide thinking "something" might happen if she does so ...(after collecting stuff for a reason...)

>> No.3141   [Delete]   [Edit]

But Mado might be terminally ill, which is why she stays in her room all the time. She's just too unwell to leave the house. She never goes into the other room either, because she's ashamed and maybe considers herself a burden? She thinks her family hates her for being so ill and 'useless'. Especially if we consider Madotsuki to be japanese I think this could be very plausible.

Madotsuki was/is an anorexic, and the fat effect was how she saw/sees herself. The stomach growling when you press 1 represents her hunger.

Rather the japanese version.
You're right.

>> No.3139   [Delete]   [Edit]

Sounds plausible. Even if she wasn't anorexic, the fat effect definitely symbolises feeling of being fat or fears of becoming fat. She has self-image issues. The hair-effects I think also relate to this.
