So what do you guys think is behind cakegirl and the green-haired girl who goes crazy and chases you when you use Cake effect (and bears more than a passing resemblance to Madotsuki, especially in one wallpaper featuring her)...

It may just be because of the character drawing style but the green-haired girl also bears resemblance to this person whose apparently hung themselves while their ass was bleeding in another area in 2kki... and both the greenhaired girl and this hanging girl represent Madotsuki due to pigtails.

I also note the place has a LOT of symmetry.

Devs trying to tie this in with the original Yume Nikki? Or something else?

I also note that you can find it in the Cardboard world... which gives off a vibe of an abandoned childhood fantasy..

ITT I now think Uro is either lesbian or bisexual and is at the current time very lonerly on account of the fact that she drove away all her friends because of her anger management issues (medabomb, chainsaw, wolf?). The greenhaired girl who chases her is either a friend of hers or a representation of herself because she may have been really stalker-ish or clingy. Cake effect in this interpretation thus represents what she REALLY likes in a person, sexually or otherwise, that causes her to stalk/chase them like mad.

If someone thought of this sorry about that.

At school the other day I was watching a video about the 5 senses. It said if your blind you would often get weird dreams/nightmares because you dont usually see anything ,the brain generates something made up ,takes things you saw before you were blind,or both.
When I heard that I thought of Madotsuki.Maybe she's blind and she doesn't know where to go so she doesn't go outside. The place she might only know where to go is the veranda since it's so small and all.
So /t/ tell me what you think about it.

This makes me think what people who have been blind for life dream of.
Perhaps they only dream sounds.

On a side (main) note the blindness makes the end of the game seem almost like a hilarious accident

>> No.1742   [Delete]   [Edit]

>This makes me think what people who have been blind for life dream of.

Because they have never needed to use the parts of their brains that interpret visual input from the eyes, those parts of the brain never develop, and shrink away. Thus, even in dreams, it is very rare for someone who has been blind their whole life to "see" something, as such, because even without needing to use their eyes while they sleep, their brains can't generate images from areas it's never used.

Most people who have been blind for life say that, when they dream, rather than, for example, "seeing" a building, they simply "know that it is there", because dreams have easy logic that way.

Or at least, that's the translation I'm getting for the name for this map according to this japanese-english dictionary...

Any theories, guys? Name was found through music room in the game.

Uses this chipset.

This map also leads to this guy, who I would like to call "Smokin' HAL" on account of the "HAL" in the tilesets and panoramas related to this world and this map. Though this might be a bad idea since this seems to be the alias of the guy who made this map...

and has anyone got a translation for the name of the "Cardboard world" according to how it's identified in the sound room?

I have a theory about what has effected Madotsuki's subconscious- a serial killer

our characters-
Madotsuki- our protagonist
Monoko- the girl with five arms
Monoe- the seemingly normal girl
Masada- the piano playing space man.
Poniko- the blond woman
Uboa- the fearful head
as well as many other character

shall all be explained

let me begin:

I was wondering... what if she is shut in because she was arrested? I mean, house arrested. The game does have criminal elements, the knife, de corpse, and everything.

Do you think this is possible?

you can compleat the game with only waking up three times.
think about it...

>> No.1682   [Delete]   [Edit]

I think that Madotsuki DOES need to eat, drink, and of course sleep (duuuuurrrrr)

But even if the dreams take weeks and weeks to complete to the player, in the game, it's only a few hours or something.

>> No.1688   [Delete]   [Edit]

Not sure if anyone else has ever noticed this before, but when you open a door in the Nexus, it clicks as it swings open.

Except for the one to Numbers World; it makes this weird sort of "thunk".

Any ideas, /t/?

Well, it's a heavy metal door.

So, where we can find heavy metal doors? Labs, x-ray rooms, places with radiation, in general. Maybe, just maybe, this can be related to Monoko?

>> No.1695   [Delete]   [Edit]

There was a nuclear war, Numbers world is a bunker, Mado was raped in said bunker explaining HURR KYUUKYUU IS A PEENIS, Mado is going through radiation sickness or something.

ITT crazy theories

Maybe the Seccom that madotsuki knew IRL was a speed junkie who died of a heart attack or exhaustion. aphetamine abuse is pretty common in Japan. The crazy eyes and pale skin could represent his paranoid/neurotic behavior and decaying health as his abuse got worse, and his spaceship could be a metaphor for him being "high" all the time. the sirens and crash-landing on mars could be madotsuki's interpretation of his final downward spiral and death, which was probably rather traumatic for her if he was indeed her beloved music teacher.

This is part of a bigger "All madotsuki's friends are dead" theory that explains her regression from the outside world, disturbing mental state, and eventual suicide.

Seccom is a pop star Madotsuki liked who overdosed on painkillers and alcohol

>> No.1331   [Delete]   [Edit]

Madotsuki is a former police officer. She dropped out and started working at a Gas station as a night attendant, slowly becoming alcoholic. One day, a little guy named Masada came in. They slowly became friends. One day, she learned that Masada sold and consumed drugs. She didn't really care. But for messing with hierarchy, Masada got attacked and died in her hands. Madotsuki went and tried to find his murderer and the dealer who got Masada into this mess and killed them both. Then Madotsuki locked himself in his room forever. Cue Yume Nikki.

>> No.1447   [Delete]   [Edit]

oh so just because the game is "trippy" it's gotta be about drugs huh

Based on the colours, shapes, and items in reef world, do you think it might have had something to do with birthdays? A childhood memory of Poniko's birthday perhaps? You've got cone shapes like party hats, balloons, bright pastel colours...
Maybe Uboa is a representation of a prank Mado's friends played on her in the dark on Poniko's birthday, the scream is Mado's own. Do you remember the game "Bloody Mary?" Draw an x on the mirror and say "Bloody Mary" three times after turning out the lights? What if they played that game with her, but locked her in the dark bathroom with one of her friends in a scary mask?
Uboa's face is the mask. I'm gonna guess that Mado flipped out and punched the girl in the mask out of panic, thus the face Uboa makes when you touch it. She turned the lights back on and saw that she'd basically given the girl a nosebleed. The thing in the background of the world you're transferred to isn't vomiting blood, it's a distortion of the image of a bad nosebleed.

To continue this theory a little bit, wouldn't it make sense that Madotsuki went further than just inducing a nosebleed. Cause I mean, the entire floor is flooded with blood when Uboa transports you.

>> No.1659   [Delete]   [Edit]

I've had holy-fuck-shit nosebleeds accomplish this (not to mention make it look like someone dumped a can of red paint down my chest) so that doesn't sound too far-fetched.

>> No.1678   [Delete]   [Edit]

Hate to take it here but, uh... She could have pissed herself in fright?
You can't see it's blood, you just hear a watery sound.
