It's pretty good. It's not that scary, but it's interesting. I'd say it's like the books scary stories to tell in the dark, if you've ever read those.
Speaking of which, have you tried reading some of Kazuo Uemezu's works?
You might also want to check out some of Suehiro Maruo's stuff as well, although his stuff isn't so much horror as it is extremely grotesque.

Same as OP, when I was reading these pages I was like "oh, dude, what a familiar face".
Fuan no Tane is a wonderful manga. It's not that scary, in fact there is a lot of manga that's scarier, but if you've got a lively imagination, you would be able to find out lately in the evening that something slightly disturbs you. A dark corner. A shadow from the streetlight. A motion of the branch. A sound in the distant room.
