The fight for the decriminalization of marijuana is on. Obama has decided not to pursue legalizing pot, stating that it would be “bad for the economy.” Marijuana has been criminalized since the 1930's (Federal Marihuana Tax Act) for all the wrong reasons and it is time to prove to this nation just how bad the economy can get. The time to act is now, when it will hurt everybody's pocketbooks the hardest. It's time to go on strike! Put on your masks, pick up your signs and storm every city hall, every court house, every state capital and especially Washington, D.C.
On July 4th, Independence Day, everyone who supports the legalization of marijuana will go on strike! We will camp out PEACEFULLY and with EXTREME TOLERANCE to politicians, but we will have our message heard! I want this message spread on every *chan and in every section. AMERICA WILL NOT WORK ANOTHER DAY UNTIL MARIJUANA IS DECRIMINALIZED! I want to see every major corporation BEGGING Congress to make this happen. Purchase ONLY what you must for survival. I want to see sales plummet across the board. I want to see Wall Street scrambling for a solution, and I want THE ONLY SOLUTION to be THE LEGALIZATION OF MARIJUANA.
WE, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, DIVERSE AND PLENTIFUL, HAVE HAD ENOUGH. WE WILL NO LONGER STAND FOR THIS INTOLERANCE TOWARDS A DRUG THAT HAS PROVEN NOT ONLY UNHARMFUL TO HUMANS, BUT BENEFICIAL TO MENTAL HEALTH, PRODUCTIVITY AND OVERALL HAPPINESS. WE, THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, GUARANTEED BY THE UNITED STATES DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION, DECLARE THAT WE WILL NOT WORK, PURCHASE OR OTHERWISE COMMERSE, UNTIL WE ARE GUARANTEED OUR RIGHT TO LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS VIA THE DECRIMINALIZATION OF CANNABIS IN ALL FORMS, PHSYCOACTRIVE OR OTHERWISE. WE SHALL NOT WORK ANOTHER DAY IN THIS GREAT NATION UNTIL THE GOVERNMENT AGREES TO ENSURE OUR RIGHT TO GROW, CULTIVATE, POSSESS AND INGEST DELTA-9 TETRAHYDROCANNABINOL. AS OF JULY 4TH, 2009, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE ON STRIKE UNTIL THE CONDITIONS LISTED ABOVE ARE MET IN FULL. WE WOULD RATHER DESTROY THE UNITED STATES ECONOMY AND THE ECONOMY OF ALL NATIONS WHO TRADE WITH THE UNITED STATES THAN LIVE ANOTHER DAY UNDER THE THREAT OF ARREST, INCARCERATION, AND FINANCIAL PENALTY FOR THE POSSESSION OF CANNABIS.

Our efforts may be futile or end in vain, but more importantly, they may also succeed. A future where marijuana is legal is a future worth fighting for. Let's end the unjust incarceration of innocent civilians, who's number of arrest total more than every violent crime in America combined (872,721 marijuana-related arrests in 2007, compared to 451,383 violent crime arrests in 2007). In other words, THE REASON WHY THE LEGALIZATION OF MARIJUANA IS BAD FOR THE ECONOMY IS DUE TO THE SUBSTANTIAL DECREASE IN TAXPAYER INCOME DUE TO THE SUBSTANTIAL DECREASE IN ARRESTS AND FINES FOR MARIJUANA RELATED CHARGES. This should have ZERO influence upon the choice to legalize marijuana. THE CHOICE TO LEGALIZE MARIJUANA SHOULD BE BASED SOLELY UPON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE CHOOSE LEGALIZATION!
