39517 No.1787   [Delete]   [Edit

A friendly man at 4chan's /x/ found a peculiar screenshot today.
Any information, as it looks similar to a awkward-camera fangame or YN similar?

>> No.1788   [Delete]   [Edit]

well, it doesn't look very familiar to any rpg maker game, if the image is implying that that black thing is the player, it's too large as it covers more than one tile.
also, the 480x320 resolution is odd . not rpg maker, unless someone would actually take the time to script the game that way.

Doesnt RPGXP allow character sizes to be anything with the right ratio?

>> No.1791   [Delete]   [Edit]

I believe this is Nocturne. I tried the game when it was in some sort of beta version long ago... and there wasn't much to do, iirc.

Download link, please.

>> No.1808   [Delete]   [Edit]

Yeah, it's Nocturne. All it did was crash.

So it's abandoned? Okay.jpg

People keep posting screenshots of this game in late-night creepy threads on /v/.
I don't think it's abandoned...

Someone I asked on a /X/Games thread just found this. It's spanish (wtf) and 'CD 1-2' seems like its just a awkwardly translated SMT Nocturne (but two discs for some reason) and I'm not sure what it is.

and why does /v/ have creepy things? /x/ is for that!

Yeah, part of the reason why it's so impossible to find anything about this game is because of SMT, and another fairly popular game called Nocturne.

From what I've collected, all this is is a very short game that accompanied a creepypasta. Somebody mentioned a version number, and that the short version was v0.0.0, but nobody who has the newer version ever posts a link to where they got it...

The version number in this picture says 0.0.2, but there's always the possibility it could be fake.

Caught a new 'creepy games' thread on /x/ (stop looking at /v/) and, yay, theres a few fun little links we have to bury though.

This one seems most legit, but not sure if want download:
"This is the original Nocturne:"
http://www.mediafire.com/?qjx5xq98a6cb3xe
"This one was decompiled so that the red room event would happen 100% of the time:"
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=euuc28iw

Someone responding to Nocturne also said
"I'm sorry, but this is all I can give you at the moment."
http://www.mediafire.com/?ohooxc2zcssivid
If anyone can verify the first two links are Nocturne, and whatever '10111111.rar' is, please report back.

Awesome! These look legit. I need to go on /x/ more!
The first link is definitely safe. It's just the original Nocturne.exe. The second one was decompiled, but it's still likely safe to download.
The third link is just a rar with three mp3's: the game's theme, the red room sound, and a third song that isn't in the game.
So we officially have version 0.0.1 now. :D

>> No.1822   [Delete]   [Edit]

Is it safe to say this is a Yume Nikki fangame? It seems similar enough, despite it's length.

>> No.1823   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1822

Confirmed! Her name, according to Akinator.com (wtf), is Soentsuki! ...Why does akinator know this..

>> No.1824   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1820
"There are three songs, the Nocturne theme, the Red Room noise, and the new mirror song."
So says the guy who uploaded.

New being, this is a work in progress.
Also it's a confirmed /x/phile game, so ubuu-chan really aught hang in /x/ more.

>> No.1825   [Delete]   [Edit]

One more thing:
Red room = computer freezing.
Remember to ctrl+alt+del out if it does that.

>> No.1826   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1823
Okay, so I googled Soentsuki, and there were two results, both from an "MS Paint Adventures" forum.

The following conversation is in the thread:

> This being exists in your mind. It is under your control. You can make it disappear if you can convince yourself it does not exist.
>How much are you willing to bet that?
>One way to test:
>Have you heard of Madotsuki, Urotsuki, Soentsuki and Sabitsuki?

Nobody in the thread mentioned the name again, and only one user pointed out that they didn't recognize it from a Yume Nikki fangame.

Curious...

>> No.1827   [Delete]   [Edit]

Red room keeps increasing the swap file, what nuisance. Also, SUPER MEGA RED EDITION.exe won't give me the Red Room anymore, just the blue lines. Man, the game is crap without a creepypasta at its side. And we don't even know what that pasta is.

>> No.1828   [Delete]   [Edit]

I wonder if it's possible to raid /x/ with Soentsuki until someone gives us the pasta?

Also, I heard that some of these screenshots are fake. That someone just pixeled little fake screenies. But of course, they might be leaked from unreleased, but without the pasta, no way to tell.

>> No.1829   [Delete]   [Edit]

The author made a tumblr for this game.

I can't remember what it was though.

It's hard to tell with these screens, because the vignette would make it very difficult to edit them convincingly. If you compare them closely, the vignette seems to be the exact same size and shape in each shot, but with different transparency. I suppose it could be done, but it would take a lot of work to get them that close.

This is a link to Nocturnev, where the creator is apparently playing Nocturne.
Sometroll said it was a flashgame made just for lolz. But yknow, he said 'flash game'. So trollololo.

>> No.1832   [Delete]   [Edit]

New info on her name.

{
Her name is apparently 疎遠付き (Soentsuki), which fits in with the Yume Nikki theme.

Soen (疎遠) = alienation, loneliness, or silence.

A decent translation could be "silent one" or "lonely one," both of which seem to fit her pretty well from what we know so far.
}

>> No.1858   [Delete]   [Edit]

Anyone notice anything a bit unusual about the mirror song from the 10111111.rar?

>protip: play it backwards
>> No.1859   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1858
Sounded like your average backward song.

>> No.1861   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1859
The melody is the same, even in reverse, which makes sense with the mirror theme.

Aside from that, has anyone unearthed any more details about this? I haven't seen much since this thread started.

>> No.1868   [Delete]   [Edit]

OP here. I gathered most this info, but /x/ has been kinda drowned in summerfag again, and I don't think another Nocturne.exe will work for a little while, since the last one I tried got semitrollon;d. But we'll figure out what Nocturne is one day, right Ubuu-chan?

Pic #2.

Apparently Soen has been tweaked slightly to make her look more like Mado? I'd say this is definitely fangame material now, if these screens are real.

Also, a new door in the first image? Ugh, this is driving me crazy...

>> No.1881   [Delete]   [Edit]

So.... how do you play this?

I downloaded the game from the link above, started, went straight down the hallway outside of the main room and entered a room of complete darkness. Walked around for about ten minutes in all directions and found nothing....

What am I missing?

>> No.1882   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1881
Everything.

>> No.1890   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1881
Unfortunately, that's all that's available at the moment.
When (if) we find a link to the new version, it will be posted here though.

>> No.1891   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1881

The only thing you're missing is the "red room", which either randomly occurs when you enter the "dark room", or doing something in the other rooms first.

>> No.1916   [Delete]   [Edit]

This is the only links I've found, so unless you can prove the latest version isn't here, and give the latest link, it's all we have.
That being said, whoever finds the latest and/or the creator, bring em here!

>> No.1964   [Delete]   [Edit]

The new door on the left looks very sloppy, the rectangles on the door have disappeared due to scaling (in ms paint from the looks of it), and the bottom doesn't line up perfectly with the wall.

Could be an early render or w/e but it just doesn't look legit.

>> No.1974   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1829
nocturnedev.tumblr.com and the password was |o|||||| but it's since been deleted.

Also worth adding that I was there when the creator first brought the game up in a /v/ thread, so as far as I know, there is no creepypasta attached to it (or there wasn't at the start). The person who made the game claimed, in the beginning, that he found the game in an old laptop he bought, and that he couldn't figure out what to do in the game, but that the logo of the game appeared to change depending on the time of day, which frightened him. /v/ asked him to upload it onto a file-sharing site, he did, and /v/ just kind of took over from there. They even decompiled it at one point. There isn't really anything mysterious about it.
