Does anyone have any recommendations for any other game made by one person, ala Yume Nikki?

Cave Story is awesome, I recommend it to anyone who likes 8-bit sidescrollers

>> No.2   [Delete]   [Edit]

Noitu love 2 is pretty damn amazing for one guy.

Cave Story rocks pretty hard for a one-man game. I couldn't finish my second play through though, I'm stuck where that lady wants me to find her puppies.

You guys played Eversion? It's like Yume Nikki's side-scrolling/platforming half-brother. A lot less subtle with the creepy vibes and a little more focused than Yume Nikki with clear destinations and less wandering, but also quite a bit shorter as a result. I don't have a link handy but it's easy to find with Google and it's well worth the download.

Knytt stories. A huge exploration platformer with an eerie ambient feel to it. Very imaginative game.

Be sure to check out Glum Buster, a pretty weird but incredible platformer/puzzle/adventure hybrid:

I also recommend Jumpman.
It may look unremarkable at first but trust me, the later levels are insane as hell.

Eversion made me laugh. It's a cute game, especially the ending.

I lol'd hard. Didn't see that coming.

Anyway, Super Mario War is a pretty fun game. It's like SMW but you kill each other.

A friend of mine showed me this one side scroller game where you play as a worm attacking military bases and the sort. With the mouse you could control how deep you went underground before propelling yourself up into the air to eat helicopters and tanks and army d00ds and shit. The more things you ate, the bigger and longer you got, looked fucking awesome. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Oh hay, since someone necrobumped this thread, there's an Eversion HD now.

But you have to donate $5 to Zaratustra Productions for it.

i saw that, there's an LP of it on Youtube. This guy isn't very good and he sounds like Microsoft Sam, but it's nice to see the changes.

doesn't go into level 8, though ;_;

The Chzo Mythos series by ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw. They're point n' click games and they're kickass. I'm a bit too obsessed with them at the moment XD

Eh...
That reminds me, All of Our Friends are Dead, and the sequel Au Sable.

And don't forget about Mondo Medicals and Mondo Agency.

Au Sable isn't supposed to be taken as a sequel, is it?

I just thought it was another game by Amon26.
