One of my all-time favourite visual novels. The art style puts some people off but stick with it, it's very emotive (see pic) and it'll grow on you fast.

I'm stuck on the very beginning of this because... the beginning of the story just DRAGS ON AND FUCKING ON. I know it's going to get better, but I'm bored as fuck of waiting for it.

Plus yeah, shitty art, etc.

But I saw part of the anime, which was interesting, and I want to read the visual novel because I know the anime didn't do it justice.

Should I watch the anime?

That's the point, the first few games always follow the Key formula. It was the same with Higurashi but nobody knows that because you guys were spoiled with that piece of shit anime that doesn't give you any time to get attached to the characters and goes straight into LOL PEOPLE DYING. It may not be the most exciting stuff to read through but you'll be glad you did in the long run.

Yeah, I figured people wouldn't be creaming themselves over this game for nothing. :B I'll stick with it; at the very least, getting to know the characters in more depth is awesome.

It does drag a bit at the start but stick through it.
