Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann/Neon Genesis Evangelion/FLCL disscussion topic.
This would've been a generic Gainax disscussion topic, but Gainax has done A LOT of things.
I'll try and get some links up if Linkman can't provide, which I doubt.
Anyway, My thoughts on the serieses(?):
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann:
Simply amazing. Each act (Act 1: Eps. 1-8, Act 2: Eps. 9-15, Act 3: 17-27) is very well done. In my opinion, Act 3 isn't as good as 1 and 2, but it's still great. This is easily the best anime I've seen, closely followed by Eva and SEL.
Neon Genesis Evangelion:
I saw this a long time ago, so I don't remember much of the series, but from what I do remember, it was fantastic. I wouldn't recommend this to fans of Gurren Lagann, simply because it's a lot more psycological and darker. RoE has been good so far (I've only seen 1.0, 2.0 comes out dubbed next month though, I'm looking forward to that).

I've seen both terms to refer to a 'shut-in', but do they both carry the same meaning? (Nerd vs geek for example.)

Also, NEETs have more technology than hikkikomori, it seems. the ability to ninja out and buy stuff is good to have. So it depends on if youre scared of people or not to me.

Hello /n/, you won't see me much around here because I'm not so much a weeaboo, I just enjoy a few good animes and mangas every now and then.
Well anyway, I was browsing through /n/, and I realized that barely any of you have seen Serial Experiments Lain.
I really do suggest you go watch it. I'll try and find the original links I got the episodes from, and if I can't, I'll just reupload them to Megaupload or something.
Anyone who has seen it, what did you think of it? I'd really like to know.

My aunt has some DVDs... I think I'll borrow it from her, hmm. They're kinda old though... Not sure if they still work since my aunt's not famous for taking care of her stuff, but well, I'll have to try. I actually found it really enjoyable.
I am in to dark shows like Higurashi, Elfen Lied, Black Lagoon, or Paranoia Agent for starters, so it was no real shock to me that I like it.
Silly idea, yes.
But I think they pulled it off kinda well without completely ridding it of comedy.
Kept me kinda on edge
