OP here.
Gee, this recieved a much worse reception than I'd hoped for. I figured this would be the one place people wouldn't get giddy fangirl about it but would still be intrigued. guess the reaction was too far on the other side, eh?
The name of this game is .Flow, I picked it up a bit ago when wandering the moon internet. While the sprites bear a vague semblance to yume nikki, that's about the only common trait the games have in common. The entire game, from what I can gather, is based around the psychological principle of "flow"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flow_(psychology)
the character's name is Sabitsuki, ironically.
This differs in that while Madotsuki's name means window moon, and urotsuki's name means wander moon,
Sabitsuki means covered in rust.
Anyhow, in the game, you use your computer to achieve 'Flow' to access this other realm. this brings you into your room with no distractions present and access to the Nexus. The nexus however, is only one door, which leads back to your room, and to access the other areas, you walk in the four cardinal directions. The music is simplistic and very background-esque, and whenever you move from map to map, you get a sound much akin to a radio or old television trying to change stations.
As to the point of the game, I'm not quite sure. as it's only version 0.00.3, but it's quite playable and functional. I assume collecting objects while in 'flow' has a sort of purpose, since when you collect one, you either say or hear it's name. the only effects available are a set of headphones, an eye-monster, a ghost, and a lead pipe, but these may be the only effects that will ever be in the game.
