Isn't anyone working on a game that doesn't try to be creepy, and is just kinda lolwut?Pic related, it's Hitler on a magic carpet. Deal with it.

Depends on what you mean by lolwut. I'm sure there are some elements of that in some games...but I guess you're right. Perhaps I should add more lolwut to my game...Dreams aren't always serious business, especially lucid dreams.
Well, some things on my project make no sense at all, but I'm not sure if it can be considered 'lolwut'.IF it ever leaves the 'project' level and actually gets to the 'game' level, that is.

>>5491It would be cool to keep that in mind, I reckon. If you give everything a purpose, and every effect is needed to progress, then you're a step away from making a trippy Zelda IMHO.And as I understand it, Alles is supposedly going through his old memories? So, he must have some happy ones.Anyways, keep it up with the game. Have you put up your WIP for download?

>>5493That's actually something I'm planning on doing. Each effect is needed to progress the game to one of three endings. Even the "Freud" effect. No, I haven't put up the WIP. There's nothing ATM to play. But Ideas are becoming reality (or dreams, lol), so there will be a v0.01 here pretty soon...
I am not aiming for creepy. In fact I want my game to make people feel good. And sad. But they feel good about being sad. There is only a happy ending or a normal ending. There will be much lolwut.

i think establishing lolwut will be hard for some especially since everyone wants deep meaningsjust pick random words and elaborate from there shoe, pillow, marble, yogurt

Idea: a YN-style game that's the Yume Nikki format, but happy. So the protagonist is some little boy with a bright cyan shirt, open eyes and a huge happy smile, and when he goes to sleep he wakes up in a field of colorful ponies that fly him to different worlds. The worlds would be stuff 6-year-old kids tend to like, like DINOSAUR LAND and ALIEN SPACE LAND, except all the NPCs speak and are friendly and tell you where to find all the effects, making the game insanely easy. There's cheery happy music in the background. Some effects: fish, which acts like the knife/chainsaw/pipe effect but just smacks the opponent and plays a laugh track, T-Rex which lets you ride a t-rex, and Desu which gives you a Suiseiseki costume and lets you say desu to NPCs.The end of the game would involve the protagonist (let's call him Derpotsuki, I don't care if that's grammatically screwed up) jumping off his balcony, only to sprout angel wings and a jetpack and fly into the sunset while the Ducktales Moon theme plays. And there would be nothing scary in the entire game. At least not intentionally. No hidden UBOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA or cosmic horrors or Mr. Friendlys or anything, just happiness and smiles and cats. Lots of cats. Last edited 11/07/21(Thu)22:24.

...is it bad that I find that idea significantly creepier than Yume Nikki or the average fangame?
