I agree with the first person sentiment.
In all honesty, It may be something I will attempt at some point.
The combination of works, though, I can't forsee working out very well.
Dispite the similarities, I don't think it'd work.
I think there is too much individualism to get /fg/ to turn into another /p/ or 2kki project.
A few of us do go around and try to help to help others, giving them suggestions and whatnot. I know I try to help a bit. D00Dman seems to like trying to give people ideas. But in the end, if you tried to get us all together for a project, I think it would trainwreck. At least, if the project involved trying to combine all of our current ideas. A new project could potentially work.
Regardless, I like /fg/ for what it is. A bunch of people trying to make YN inspired game. Regardless of how close or far off the mark it is... well, that's what it is.
You can take it as a "Lets try to 1-up Kikiyama" board, or you can take it as "I though it might be cool to put my spin on this" board. In many cases, I doubt it's the 1st.
Also, Consider this: This board may be people's first time making a game. This could just be thier virgin thrust into the field, which could lead to them doing different, more interesting things later on.
I say leave people to their devices. Good floats in this instance, Y'know? If something was really bad, it'd sink and end up forgotten.
Wow, that was tl;dr.
