Are you sure this is Yume Nikki related? Not any game with RPG Maker that doesn't have fighting in it is a Yume Nikki fangame.
Plus, this looks weird and another one of those only-for-scares game.

There isn't an Exe in the download zip.

is there some other way to run them (a file to rename, perhaps) or did I just waste 16 mb of my pitiful bandwidth limit ; _ ;?

>> No.3405   [Delete]   [Edit]

Ok, this game is: 1. AWESOME. 2. Has the ability to reach extreme surreality without getting "dreamy" or gruesome.
Also you CANNOT leave the game.

Update: Press shift for a long time for an explosion sound and getting back to the main menu. You need to find...White lines. WTF.

The face...It's watching me!! ITS IN MY HEAD!!!!
(yes, I am serious. Upper-left, the rock in the most northern part after getting the lights on in the south-western part OF THAT AREA)
It's a smiling gigling face that appears every once in a while, and is visible much, much later.
This game is gigantic btw. I can't help but think if this is really .002 out of a 1.
EDIT: Nope, the smiling face is in the whole north-western area.
I now refuse to play this game with any sound.
EDIT2: I just realized that the first phrase in this post also works for the main hub.

Holy mother...The (small) face is now at the (big) face area too!
Also, WTF is going on.
No, not the black guy (he can disappear, something that I called for from a km away!) he's always there. I TURNED GREY.
EDIT: Also, if I started posting screens of areas I like/found, my printscreen button would be dead by now.
And yes you only need what you need for (most) of the japanese yume nikki projects.
But I start to question the superiority of Yume Nikki in comparison to this.
EDIT2: I now have 4 white bars. Yayz. Anyone better? (and I know where the 5th one is but not how to light the red lightposts)

Oh hi guyz.
I be evil smiley face that ruins your game.

...
I still feel shivers when I reach him. He just makes this game stupid creepy, and I think it disables some events or areas.
So anyone know how to light the red lightpost?
EDIT: Btw I think he appears even more frequently than some of the other room forms. I counted...Lemme see. 1 is the normal ladder. 2 half a ladder. 3 quarter a ladder. 4. normal ladder with Up and Down above the doors, as opposed to Left or Right. 5 is the normal 4 dots above-viewed. 6...The dreaded upside down room. 7 is the one with the fisherman from the water world, by the tower. 8 is a similiar room to that, just without him. 9 is the...Big Face or whatever it is room. It can be everything or Anything. Then there's the rooms pointing to a certain direction and top down viewed variants. And then...there's the FACE.
That's 13 rooms.
What do you mean it's not symbolic?
EDIT2: It's actually 13 without the arrows variants. There's also tree rooms and whatnot, and an upside down world where the "ceiling" is really, really low. (or high?)

Last edited 10/06/14(Mon)02:52.

>> No.3457   [Delete]   [Edit]

And then there's the door room...
Basically, it's 13 rooms.
And then there's the "mirror" room with the warp.
EDIT: OH FUCK. There's a room exactly like the original room, just with the arrows going in the opposite direction and well...You see a guy going down. I accidentally the ladder, so I don't know which direction he goes.
Also I take back the FACE-is-appearing-more-frequently. It's decided when you SEARCH (start). This time I had the door room appearing more.

I didn't find all 10 rod things. Are all of them even avaliable? And I also find the vegetative place to be my absolute favorite until the entity at the waterfall. Things got too unsettling.

>> No.3468   [Delete]   [Edit]

. . .
What entity? T_T
EDIT: I have a feeling I'm never going to be playing this game again, after the FACE and now this.
Also, there are NINE things, the x/10 part is something beyond my ability of comprehension. I'm currently at 6/10 and have 4 rods (that's probably the right way to say it, thanks). So...yeah. What the hell.
Also, I know the right teleporter at the start gets to the C tower (you can get to it from the ice world, then all the way up the tower, left a lot till C tower, and somewhere there) but what about the right one?
I forgot where I got all my rods.
EDIT2: Also, while I haven't played since I applied partch (it's spelled that way, at least there :P) 006, I feel it fixes the FACE following you A. after you SHIFT back. 2. Follows you to the Vegetative world, but not to the other 2.
EDIT3: Though, considering how I turned grey...It's probably intentional, and might lead to a game over. A game over in this kind of game? Yes. It's not Yume Nikki, or anything like it.

Yume Nikki related games don't need to have main characters with sleepy anime eyes, some empty house, and a dream world to be related to Yume Niiki.

This game is so fucking awesome. I'm in awe at the creativity and design. How the hell did the creator do this? The makes RPGmaker seem not so limited.

>> No.3502   [Delete]   [Edit]

. . .
7 rods!? You guys are really good at this.
I could only get 4 and then I know the location of a 5th one, but I couldn't get the red lightpost thing to work, so it's currently blue-purple-ish, since it's Blue+Green right now.
Also, the mirror room in the randomizer gets you to some long room which appearantly only leads to a place really close to where the right teleporter in the hub gets you to, through a hole. I got that one already.
So anyone got a list of where to get them all? I'm afraid to step foot in the game after...you know. FACE.
EDIT: Oh great, now I forgot how I got my rods. Just great.

>> No.3506   [Delete]   [Edit]

Ohi guys, I just found how to light the Red lightpost.
It's south of the R building, or...2 times right from the right portal in the hub (the D building).
God speed.
Also, there's a lot really small randomized events in the game, like all the flowers changing their colours, rain (or is it all the time) in NW world, a really small grey bug (1 px) in NW world, the NE world being brighter, a spaceship going through where there is no bridge (I think south of the U building), etc.
Also, partch 006 removed the C building, and therefore the only way to get to one of the rods is what I mentioned before. You know, through the mirrorandom room in the randomazer (randomizer+maze=randomazer)
EDIT: You may have missed this: NS world (after the usual down the stairs room), go West, interact with the middle...thing on the wall, go slightly south (not until the border) and go east. Whatever that thing that appears is, it appears, and it takes you to an elevator, and to an effect.

One screen East, this is also where you activate the blue light thing. Since the green one is really obvious, at least to me, (hint: NW world, the biggest field, then SW) I won't show pictures.
I'll take a screenshot of the room where you pick it up now. It's somewhere around the long path in the NW world, using a rock as a teleporter, and then...well I don't exactly remember. It's in the black-and-white world. One of them, at least. (there's 2, the bigger one)

>> No.3512   [Delete]   [Edit]

Gentlemen, I have an announcement to make!
The smiley face, after about 6 times of SHIFTing, sends you to a desolated world full of bigass grey clones of him and normal black clones (on a black background with only a few things in it, no less) of it. So, I found 2 things. 1 is unimportant, that you can make one of the big grey clones melt a little. He's somewhere south of the only green lit candle.
The second and much more important one is that there is a door. Yes, one single door in the massive zone you can't get out of (you can't SHIFT out of it either btw). Then you're off to a huuuuuuuge hallway with doors. One of the doors (it's gonna take a while to get to the hallway, not to mention finding the door. The hallway loops, but I think the graphics loop a lot more than it really does, and also the world is gigadelic and it's generally hard to find the door) brings you to the most scariest thing you'll ever find in this game (it's a CG, sort of).
(luckily, I didn't have the headphones on at the time and B-man was here)
So yeah, unless you want to go through that utterly rewardless expirience, definately do not walk on the smiling asshole's face.

A red thing with godspeed caught me in that area on top of the ice tower and transported me to that chuckling smiling face room. I recognize it from the original Neftelia. Look out for a weird gobble noise.

>> No.3537   [Delete]   [Edit]

I did mention that the smile is the cause for a really long detour you HAVE to go through if you step on it, did I.
>>3523 He appears blue for me. I wonder if it'll work still. Also I was going to even take a picture of that place (since I said the ignitors' locations) but I forgot to.
>>3531 refer to >>3453 to see I said it already. But something TELEPORTS you there??

>> No.3546   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>3537

Yeah, I went through the Heartpounding Adventures of Grey Dude and Smiley prior to this encounter. Was awesome.

In Neftelia 1, there is a dark graveyard area. Most of the time, there is nothing there, but there is a random chance of a red monster laughing and running you down. He transports you to an inescapable room with a bunch of those smiley faces and you must shift out of there.

But in Neftelia 2, you are familiar with those two statues in the area above the Ice Tower - the one with the U and D and C buildings? I was passing by that area and noticed that there was only one statue. I thought nothing of it, most of the game is pretty randomized, but I kept going right and in the next area, that red monster from Neftelia 1 (I guess the statues are petrified versions) jumped me and sent me to the smiley room in the Randomaze. But you can just go around it like normal. It is a neat little throwback, at least.

>> No.3552   [Delete]   [Edit]

Do note that I believe Partch 006 removes the C building...
So, I need people to say where they got the rods, so we can see who got what etc. I personally have 5 without going through the Purple->Grey guy where you have to wait for a while, in the Ice world.
EDIT: Just did that, now I got 6. No idea where else it could be.
EDIT2: >>3546 Also, compared to Neftelia1, the long journey involving the Smiley face is extremely annoying. Did anyone figure out the door's exact location yet?
EDIT3: Oh, the dark graveyard. Now I remember!

Uh, guys, what FACE do you mean?

>> No.3575   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>3573 See >>3453 , it ends up sending you to a world with a lot of those, and it ends with a CG that looks just like FACE (or at least resembles it). Hence, FACE.
It basically goes:

  1. Walk over it
  2. After SHIFTing 2 times, you turn grey
  3. After SHIFTing one more time, your screen flickers a lot
  4. Finally, one SHIFT later, you're transported to said world, and you need to find a world (one interesting thing is that there's a face like that which melts a little when "interacted" with/walked over, other than that, not really interesting) you need to find a door. Then you're in a hallway with a shitload of doors, and you need to find the right door. Enter that door and you get the short but strong CG. You get nothing from it, by the way.
>> No.3576   [Delete]   [Edit]

I was told about Neftelia 2 about a week ago and linked to some Japanese site where I could download the game, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to run it. I'm very, very stupid, yes.

I know I'd be asking a lot, but is there anyway possible that someone could upload an already running version of it somewhere where all I'd have to do is just download it and be able to play it immediately? If not, feel free to tell me to go fuck myself. I've probably got that coming.

for your perusal, an archive of Neftelia 2. It should work if your copy of XP is set to Japanese, but I'm not sure if you can AppLocale it (because of the filenames).

does this mean you'll be doing another series of YouTube videos for this? That'd be swell if you did.

>> No.3580   [Delete]   [Edit]

I don't plan on LPing it next, but maybe after that. I mean, I don't know if any videos of it exist already, but I'd rather let it age a little bit. I don't know why I feel that way.

>> No.3581   [Delete]   [Edit]

Ah, I guess I give up for a while. The unicode thing is switched over to Japanese, and I tried running that copy, but some error message I can't read keeps popping up. I thought maybe I needed to install a copy of RPG Maker 2000, so I got that and changed the compatibility so it'd install on Vista, but the game still won't work and RPG Maker says it needs some English RTP thing.

Yeah, I'll just have to wait on this.

>> No.3583   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>3580
there's a couple videos tucked away on NicoVideo, but I haven't really explored them yet.

>> No.3592   [Delete]   [Edit]

By the way, I probably didn't mention these, but:

  1. There's a building cube south of the U building. It builds itself every time you get a rod. Though even without counting the base, it still doesn't make sense.
  2. The final 2 rods are probably not even in the game. The 1 place which could have anything is the world that the smiley leads to, after extinguishing all the flames while RIDING UR UFO. I think there's 8 or so. I might take screens of the areas you need there.

Then you need to do the Adventures of D Gray Man ("the" grey man) [/derp] and find the one lit candle, north and slightly east of the 1 face that melts when you step on it. (yes, it's hard)
Shots in the dark are fun~
Also, another place that might have something is the one from which you get to the UFO, only heading south. There seems to be a puzzle there, which is really weird. (hint: the south block. No I haven't solved it)
EDIT: there is now an LP in Nico doing the above, so it should be a bit of help, if you want to try look into it. Here it is: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10875124

Well, I wasn't content with giving up, so I tried messing around with it some more to see if I could get it to run. It was probably a dumb idea, but I copied the RPG_RT.ini and RPG_RT.ldb files from Neftelia 1 to Neftelia 2 just to see if anything would happen. Instead of the game not starting at all, it actually goes to the title screen where I can select start and be treated to some static before it switches to some sort of white outline landscape on a black background where some stuttering voice keeps saying "Neftelia". Then it goes to a screen with nine grey rods in a box and the usual game options.

I can't do anything at this screen. Can't move the cursor or select anything. I really can't figure out why I'm so retarded when it comes to getting something like this to work correctly.

>> No.3633   [Delete]   [Edit]

Well, did you install RPG Maker 2k3? I'm pretty sure you need it, and since I think the original was made with RPG Maker 2k (correct me if I'm wrong), the RPG RT lmt is different. So just get that. By the way, installing RPG Maker 2k3 interferes with quite a few Codec Packs like the CCCP or the K_Lite Codec Pack. At least for me.

>>4028 I think it's just a throwback to the first game and just a WTF moment. Not much more to it, I tried everything. Yes, a few times.
If someone proves me wrong I'll at-self-facepalm for the rest of my life.
Also, I wonder if anyone else found the would-be RED EXIT for this game. (Note that I don't remember where it was)

Has anyone found the purpose of extinguishing the candles, aside from getting to go in a ride in your UFO?

I've gotten about six of the rods but I'm at a dead end now... Can't get anywhere in the Maze, or the Game World in the red colored basement. I think I've reached a dead end.

>>4046 I did mention it for others to explore, but I couldn't test it myself because I had no time.
Also, I wanted to say it again, to you, that there is an identical candle in the Gray Man world (you know the one). So I need you to check that.
EDIT: Also, I'm in the exact same situation as you, and I think there might be one in the room opposite of how you get to the UFO thing. I think there's a puzzle with that one.
Also, I think people in Ubuuchan don't like to share their knogledge, but hell I need them to.

Oh nevermind, I think I figured it out. If you extinguish like 9 or 10 candles or so, a rod appears on one of the empty pedestals outside. Now I'm up to 7, I guess. No clue where to get the last 2. I know one of is in the game world, no clue about the other.

I leave you all with this.
http://www.nicozon.net/mylist/22226064\
(why is this relevant, you ask? They finished it last week. Finished the game.)

EDIT: So here's what we missed: The ingame "game" had 3 "houses". T, U and n shaped. Well, a code is engraved on a rock in the "green" world (which you can get to using one of the long vines) has the pattern in which you need to enter them. You will then get the 8th rod.
For the 9th rod, it has to do with the square that is now built in the "V Tower" area. (one of the fast portals -> "elevator" thingy -> head down) I'm not exactly sure what you're supposed to do though :\
Now, EXIT. (red exit etc)
Continue searching, and find the secret door in the bottom left entrance (before you go down the...well-ish thingy). Try go down a few times (you'll be blocked)
Now, go to the easternmost part of the Red World. The one where you find a rod etc.
Enter "The Bug World" (keep going right a bit until it appears).
From here on, figure it out yourself.
Have fun~

>> No.6887   [Delete]   [Edit]

Bump for another Mediafire upload: http://www.mediafire.com/?sdoqk5gxn95bc3c oyea it's version 0.03 fyi

If your're not running in Japanese locale already, make sure you unzip this with 7Zip or WinRAR opened via AppLocale so the Japanese filenames won't explode.

(All I did was copy RPG_RT.exe over from Yume 2kki. I also have the runtimes for RPG Maker 2000 and 2003 installed.)

Oh my god I thought that face

oh god

and the music for MAH LITTLE PURPLE UFO changed during that whole thing. I was down right terrified

NEVER AGAIN

Also, don't see many changes. I do have a problem. Is it just me or does the tiny rock near the switch for the blue light always get pushed off the edge? I rage when it happens.
