This is one of the "bad guys". But he's the kind who's good until you attack him with the weapon. The game won't let you kill him though

Nice view. Too bad there's nothing to do here.

This game is incredibly small; there's only 2 effects thus far. So there's really not much to look at. Oh, and there's no music. Have fun walking in complete silence while exploring tiny worlds.

Are there any FINISHED fangames? I want to play a fangame, but I don't want to have to keep replaying them every week or so just to find the one or two new things they've added.

>> No.6671   [Delete]   [Edit]

N'Oubliez Jamais, that's for sure

>> No.6751   [Delete]   [Edit]

Not 100% FINISHED because not even Yume Nikki is finished, but here's the japanese fangames that have endings:
Hallucigenia (...I think), Kudaranu Mousou No (Kazaguruma's gameplay), sickmind, Lcd Dem, Amnesia, Madoro-Mu, Witoru, Yumewo.

So I want to join in the fun of making Yume Nikki based games, but I only have one problem.....

>3> I saved it in 256 color bitmap and I have color loss. I want to save it in png but I don't know what type would work for RPG Maker 2003.

Notes: I use paint for graphics and gimp as well.

Help would be appreciated! And I'm sorry if I don't understand the format of this forum... o3o this is my first time posting.

I had a similar problem. Here's what you do.

Have your sprites saved as a PNG. Open it in Gimp. You can either leave a background color and select it out later in RPG maker, or just have it transparent. Hard edge eraser and select by color work well at removing the background, so long as select by color is at its most specific.

Anyway. Actually saving. Click IMAGE > MODE > INDEXED. Have it set to Generate Optimum Palette, have the number 256 (though it defaults to 255 for me sometimes and I think that might be fine too). Then save and bam.

Any edits you want to make, just do it in paint or with the image set back to RGB, then save it again as indexed once you're done.

That should help.

Well my Zisel idea went down the drain, so I'm gonna try in the fangame business.
It's called Melodia, and as the title suggests, it focuses on music.
You play as Analiese, a young girl whom locked herself up from the outside world, and wants nothing to do with it.
Like Yume Nikki and all fangames, you explore your dreams, but instead of collecting effects, you collect [as ironic as it sounds] melodies, which reminds her of the good times she had in the outside world.
I'mma gonna be using RPG Maker 2003, if not, 2000.
Contributions are welcome, too!
Pic related. Title screen.

Hello, Sakura-Sun. I tell you a serious problem about this game.
Are their file makes the composition up your own original thing? The other day, The gameplay movie was uploded on the Nico-Nico Douga(Sorry, this movie is deleated now by the uploder). However, the many viewer posted comments and pointed out that the chipset or tileset is made up of {.flow} and {LecDem}. In addition, is the music appropriation of the others' Original music? Sakura-Sun, Is their indications really ? If they are fact, you should deleate the uploaded files as soon as. And If you last this project yet, you should made up your own materials, dots or music and etc.
I am Japanese. My English isn't very well. Sorry.

>> No.6646   [Delete]   [Edit]

The game is still a beta, therefore chipsets and tilesets are borrowed from other games.
Once I try to make my own [or find someone who can], and create my own music, I will remove the ones I borrowed.
Thank you for your concern.

I agree, it was a bit much to use stuff straight from lcd dem.

Did you sprite this area? If you did, it's really nice looking.
If it's an issue of that you can't sprite, I understand, but perhaps you should make some sprites for people to critique or ask for help rather than just take other people's work. That being said, I know that may have been hard to hear, but I really liked that concept of the game. Reminds me of EarthBound/MOTHER where you collect 8 melodies. I saw the debug ending, but it was kinda confusing. Same for the intro, which was more than anything WTFish, but you may have been going for that.

Hello Masada, it would be much easier for you if you kept your technical issues all in one thread. The board at /tkki/ has instructions for installing the things you need for japanese games, too, so it might be better if you read and follow everything, then ask for help if you need it:

Excuse me while repeat myself for the gazillionth time. Make sure it's the Japanese one, install the east asian language pack, install applocale, use it to launch the rm2000 installer in "日本語".

I really think we should port yume 2kki over onto the ipad/iPhone and the psp. (for more portable use) it's uncomfortable to lug around my laptop because i want to play some yume 2kki. Any programmers out there?

>> No.6511   [Delete]   [Edit]

Oh, please. Nobody is going to take the time to port 2kki over if they haven't even gotten Yume Nikki on the PSP yet. You might as well be asking this question to a brick wall.

>> No.6512   [Delete]   [Edit]

It still isn't a bad idea though for some of the people capable of porting their work to a portable game system/advanced phone device to still consider doing so. It's territory that might yield some interesting design aspects.

>> No.6518   [Delete]   [Edit]

RPG Maker isn't cross platform, so you'd need to do some serious coding to get it to run under PSP and/or Apple software.

>> No.6541   [Delete]   [Edit]

Very true. You would either have to code to get RPG Maker software on PSP/Apple software, or just code a new version of the game from scratch for porting.
But doing either is kinda...
time consuming for a game a limited amount of people are going to be interested in to begin with.

Greetings Uboachan!
First i'd like to thank all the game makers of this board for great games, i haven't tried all of them yet but i will.
So, it is time for me to throw my game into the ring.

First, a little backstory. Your "avatar" in the gameworld is actually not the main character of the story. The main character is a girl by the name of Merula, which is the game's name also. Merula have been sleeping nonstop for 3 years for reasons unknown. Her mother have finally started using desperate measures to wake her up. You. You are a psychic specializing in exploring other peoples minds and Merula's mother have given you the task to look inside Merula's mind. And that's pretty much it so far. The game is not yet complete, there are 4 "worlds" to explore and 2 "mimicry's" to obtain. Mimicry is skills that you learn from inhabitants of Merulas mind.
You will need the runtime package for rpg maker XP to play this.

Well, i hope you enjoy this game as much as i have enjoyed others. Here it is:

>> No.6506   [Delete]   [Edit]

You need the RPG Maker XP RTP.

>> No.6536   [Delete]   [Edit]
File: 1295743989258.png -(15.4 KiB, 192x72) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

I said a while ago i have made it so that you don't need any RTP or other stuff to play the game. So as of this version, you don't need the runtime package or any other program (except a program to unzip the file). Apart from this there's really not much new in this version, mostly bugfixes that probably no one but me will ever find (like rushing with Dino mimic in the middle of stairs bugging the game up). If you played the latest version you don't need to download this. As i said, this is mainly for anyone who doesn't have the runtime package.

Here's Ver 0.22:

So yeah, expect more next version.

oh gee let's spam /fg/ with fangames lololol

"YOU ARE A VILLAIN". You have the ability to access people's dreams and destroy them. Whether or not you want to tells the tale.
Largely based on Yume Nikki (hub, stroll through dreams, collect effects) but the mood and "storytelling" is different.
None of the characters have names. The "main" characters are named by archetypes.
Finished Hub, Entry Point for the first world, and character sprite (beta).

Here's concept art as a preview since I can't take screenshots for some reason!

It is conveniently labeled ".flow ver0.09 ENGLISH TRANSLATION".

How 'bout that.
