Someone I want to contact.

>> No.913   [Delete]   [Edit]

A normal, well-adjusted guy who enjoys making psychological horror, and things that're just generally bizarre.

The most mysterious person in the world.

Ceiling cat, and he is watching you masturbate

>> No.951   [Delete]   [Edit]

Someone who probably committed suicide and left the game as some sort of goodbye message to the world.

>> No.955   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>951
WHAT NO I LOVE KIKIYAMA
I shall commit suicide and wander the bounds of hell to find that lovely little faggot

>> No.957   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>955
But no one knows what he looks like!

>> No.963   [Delete]   [Edit]

A guy who killed himself after making Yume Nikki, came back from the dead to tell us he based it off his dead ex-girlfriend. No, wait... his neighbor who was suffering from racism and killed herself---no, wait...

A lonely Japanese man.

This does not mean he is dead :'C

It does mean you can't search for him, dumbass.

No it doesn't.

>> No.1198   [Delete]   [Edit]

Someone who may feel defeated by fan games right now.

>> No.1203   [Delete]   [Edit]

There should be a way to look up his site registration info. This would include an e-mail address, usually. I did something similar before with another site.. I can't remember the details.

>> No.1210   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1198
Or feel really honored. :D

>> No.1239   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1210
Honored enough to stop updating Yume Nikki, since there would no longer be a reason.

>> No.1251   [Delete]   [Edit]

I think he is an hikikomori.

>> No.1270   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1239
No reason?Hmm, not sure about that, he might update it soon with even more mind fucking things. He has his own style and fan games can't really reproduce it.

>> No.1277   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1270
He could still feel inferior. Think about his hikikomori mind.

>> No.1335   [Delete]   [Edit]

He's dead.

>> No.1349   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>963

This might be stupid, but it actually seems like a good theory for the existence of the game. Madotsuki is actually Kikiyama and these are the traumatic things he experienced in his life, probably childhood. So he might be not older than 18. All of this put together, it becomes his suicide-note.

Discuss.

>> No.1350   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1349
Wait, did I even quote the right thing? Anyway, basically this.
Yume Nikki: Suicide-note, containing Kikiyama's disturbing traumas he (or she LOL!??!?!?!) experienced.

>> No.1351   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1349
This is an old and overused theory that I don't believe.

>> No.1353   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1351
Ah. Well, it's unusual, no doubt. But why would it be unbelievable?

>> No.1354   [Delete]   [Edit]

Suicide is disproven every time he updates his website, tards! Look up Kikiyama HP.

>> No.1356   [Delete]   [Edit]

It was last updated well over a year ago.

>> No.1366   [Delete]   [Edit]

Add to that it doesn't have to be HIM who updates his site. How about his cruel twin-brother who's planning on making money with it?

He's not dead, you sillies! I sent him this message:
親愛なるききやま:

私はアメリカ人です。私のような"ゆめにっき"まず第一に、私はこのような素晴らしいゲームを作るためにあなたに感謝したい!

"ゆめにっき"の開発は終了ですか?また、世捨て人Madotsuki理由は何ですか?彼女はいじめだったのか?

本当にありがとうございます!素晴らしい一日を! !

も:私のひどい日本語言い訳!私がこのメッセージを理解することを期待!
I had to use Google Translate to translate it! I hope that I didn't offend him by doing something like that.

After a few days, he sent this back!:

はじめまして、ききやまと申します。

ゆめにっきプレイしてくださって、ありがとうございます。
アメリカの方にもプレイしていただけたのには、少し驚きました。
楽しんでいただけて嬉しいです。

いつになるかは分かりませんが、
ゆめにっきは不定期で更新予定です。
更新の際にはプレイしていただければ幸いです。

メールありがとうございました。
日本語の返信で申し訳ありません。

失礼いたします。

Using Google Translator I found that it means this:

Hello, I'm Kikiyama.

Played much for the dream diary, thank you.
're Also playing to the American people are a little surprised.
I am happy with it you can do fun.

Or do not know when,
Dream journal will update at random times.
The update would be appreciated to play.

Thank you.
Sorry Japanese reply.

We care.

The enigmatic Kikiyama writes tersely and kindly! He's also apparently surprised that foreign people play this game.

Also, he doesn't know when the next update will be.

Well, we at least know he's alive and still working on YN, however slowly!

for all we know this guy could have made up both sides of the letter. :c

if it IS real I sorta wanna ask him about his thoughts on 2kki and all the other dumb fan sequels leaching off his brainchild.

Okay, guys, we really shouldn't swamp the poor guy with emails.

That said, I'm surprised nobody thought to check the readme.

The readme of the game.

Because that's where his email address is.

Well, fine!
Here's my sad attempt to ask him questions:

And does anybody know how to politely ask a Japanese person their gender online? Because I sort of want to find out how we should refer to Kikiyama, and I don't really want to be rude about it.

>> No.1444   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1442
Japanese pronouns are not always gender-specific. Just "Kikiyama-san" (or -sensei, if you want to be particularly respectful) would do.

>> No.1445   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1426
I think most English players got the game through the installer version or other repackings of the game from various websites that did not include that readme rather than the original version from kikiyama's site which does. Still, it's pretty hilarious to think that no one has tried this before. Unless someone did and never said anything about it, but I doubt that. Good work anon.

>Who is he?

Kikiyama is ZUN.

>> No.1452   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1442
Just say, "Forgive me for being rude, but I do not know how to ask politely. Kikiyama doesn't give an obvious gender for English speaking Americans."

>> No.1453   [Delete]   [Edit]

Hmm.. Yeah, we don't want to swamp him with e-mails..

>> No.1462   [Delete]   [Edit]

Now that his contact information is known, it doesn't seem exciting anymore to know him. Just thinking he was uncontactable was exciting.

>> No.1464   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1462
I agree, there was much more mystery and intrigue that way.

>> No.1465   [Delete]   [Edit]

The only thing that people should ask him would be if he had any dreams or characters planned but ended up not including them.

>> No.1482   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1462
I think it's less the fact that he's not not contactable anymore, it's more the fact that we were all too stupid to check the readme that causes the current frustration.

>>1465
While I might be just as curious as you about it, I wouldn't want to push him with that. Like >>1426 said, no use spamming the man. :c
