Okay, so Yume Nikki gets an anime. You, Anonymous, are in charge of the Opening Theme, it appears before every episode. What song would you choose? An upbeat one? A melancholy one? Anywhere in-between?Remember, the director says this has to represent the feel of the entire game.

Goddamn silence. Stop posting stupid shit already, this YN anime shit is all over the board.
>>6306Probably because it's a board dedicated to Yume Nikki.
If you look around on youtube, there are at least two nice fan-made OP sequences (which may or may not have come from nico nico douga).I think this one fits particularly well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKL8KSvVTjUAccording to your questions, I'd say it fits "in-between." It isn't totally upbeat (look up the lyrics) but it's still wonderful and a joy to watch (for me, at least) as the game is a joy to play.If I did make my own OP, though, I'd probably tone down the color a little for some of the scenes, and I'd probably show a clip of Madotsuki just wandering a little through one of Yume Nikki's many worlds. After all, that's what you do for the majority of your time--wander and explore. I don't know if I'd include Uboa, though. He could be used as a plot-twist!character or something. To be honest, though, I am not in support of having a Yume Nikki anime, fan-made or otherwise. It wouldn't be as non-linear as the games. Just fan-OP and ED's are fun, though. Which is why I'd love to see more pop up on youtube one day. Last edited 11/05/16(Mon)13:55.

>>6312The problem with that and the other one from Nico is that they lack direction. That's just a bunch of panning images with hardly any focus. I'm aiming to make an OP with after effects & premiere with a backbone to it. At least the basics of an OP are character introduction, early production credits, and even story foreshadowing. It is the difference between http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibPCLMH1NM4 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM8ODecbuhA. Art direction and production value. There is a fine line between fanwanking and fanmade with value.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loCqC83GxrYworks as an ED because the ED usually doesn't need as much direction as the OP. It CAN be a bunch of images going to a tune. Thanks for the input, sir.

This is the tentative song I'll be animating to.Hanabi by Kenji Ohtsuki, responsible for the NHK ED and various SZS OP's.http://www.mediafire.com/?nwahfi53l74lv8nOpinions, friends? Editing it down to ~1:20, of course. I feel like it encompasses much of the feeling throughout Yume Nikki.

I still like the fanmade few OP videos, as that's really all I have to judge from at the moment, but you're right as to what makes a well-composed OP; those nico ones are very simplistic. Anyways, it's great to see you're taking this on as a serious project. As for the song, I'll need to give it a listen once I have the time to download it properly (I recently reinstalled my computer's OS, which wiped it clean, and haven't reinstalled all of my programs yet, including audio/media players, etc.) but I've heard plenty of Ohtsuki's work before, so I expect it to be good.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7ezjFIQqGgI like YUKI, so this fanmade OP appeals to me. Not entirely sure what would be a perfect fit, parts of this work whereas others don't quite.

I like the agehachou OP on youtube, it's pretty much perfect... stuttering tempo and a sort of Latin feelEven though it's a fast major key song it feels a little sadIn any case television show openings are usually engineered to get your attention so you'll watch the show, not to be the show itself condensed into two minutes

Hanabi sounds like a good match.
