Does anyone know what the inspiration behind it might be? The meaning of the name?

About the only reference I can think of myself is an old SMS title by the name of アレックスキッドのミラクルワールド (Alex Kidd in Miracle World) whereby the bosses would consist of games of JanKenPon/RockPaperScissors.Their heads were actually hands in different stances of JanKenPon.About the only reason I know about it is because we used to have it when I was younger.

yeeee
I think It's a reference to Zelda, the game had these hand enemies that don't kill you, but send you to the start of the dungeon, Just like how this effect sends you to the Nexus.
>>4371 omg!
There's a japanese Youkai called Te-no-me (Hand's Eye or Eye in Hand), which apparently is the spirit of a blind man that can't sleep in peace. He has empty eye-sockets and eyes on his hands, sometimes on the palm and sometimes in the fingers. Medamaude may be a reference to japanese folklore like Yuki-onna..Also Medama means Eyeball. Ude means arm (?) Last edited 10/12/21(Tue)17:47.

This >>5389
hey...stupid question..but who is the artist of this picture of mado and the hand q_q i've seen another one with uboa and poniko >_<
>>5389Wait so is it pronounced Medama Ude or Meda Maude? I've always said the latter.
>>5620>>5389 is right. "Medama" (目玉) means "eyeball," it is a combination of "me"(目) = "eye" and "dama,"(玉) same kanji as "tama," which means "egg." and "Ude"(腕)means both "arm" and "ability"So it is pronounced Medama-Ude (目玉腕) and it means "eyeball-arm," but in a punny sort of way it also means "eyeball ability." Because it IS an ability/effect... using the power of a big eyeball... haha

>>5623Well I'll be.Medamaud was the first effect I found, and it's probably because, with my western tongue, I recognised it as meda maud.
