I don't find Yume Nikki all that scary or disturbing at all. Is there something I'm missing here?Picture unrelated.

I have 15 effects so far.I haven't encountered Uboa or Kyuukyukun (sp?) yet, but they aren't really that creepy, are they?

>>2691the game is pretty much what you make of it.personally i find the game really sad more than scary. having said that, though, i do find a lot of the areas are rather creepy and disturbing because some places and creatures remind me of nightmares i had as a kid. some of my phobias get triggered playing this game too.i hope that made sense i'm super tired

>>2691Don't worry, your not alone on the "not scary" part. I went through Uboa hoping for something that would terrorfy me; I wasn't really scared.I'm still finding it very interesting tho.

>>2724because you where expecting it is what ruined it for you.
I didn't so much experience fear as slow, creeping dread. Reading too much about the game beforehand can ruin things for you, too. The less you know the better.
