Well, you see, I recently downloaded Yume 2kki on the official site. I decided to play it. Fun so far. Except for a problem. The menu only has 2 options. I don't know if it's a problem though. Also, I don't know how to wake up or anything from the dreams. I've tried pressing everything, nothing happens. Is it too much to ask if I might ask for help?

You're using the RTP from Yume Nikki: An RPG Maker 2003 game. Yume 2kki is an RPG maker 2000 game. Try downloading the RTP for 2000 or if you have another RPG maker 2000 game, just copy and paste the RTP from there. Hope this helps.Oh, and if the text is still garbled up like that, then applocale my friend.
Did you open it through test-play RPG Maker 2003, or used 2003 to do ANYTHING on it, like editing or even opening? Mine looked exactly like that when I edited it on 2003, even with applocale. You surely are using 2003, because 2000 doesn't allow you to take options from the menu, while 2003 does (and takes them all except Item and Exit when you convert 2000 games to 2003, which is exactly what happened there). Try re-extracting the game and loading it straight/test-play from RM2000.If that's not the case, download the japanese 2000 RTP if you haven't already, and use applocale all the time if you still aren't (I guess you are, since the title looks okay). Try extracting the game with applocaled 7-Zip if you didn't already. Last edited 10/10/17(Sun)15:25.

Thanks a lot you guys! It really helped. The menu options now appear and I'm now able to wake up.Also, the text is non-gibberish now.

I had the same problem but fixed it with RTP for 2000, but I still don't know how to wake up 0.o
