I've also considered that as well, but if we're to figure out why she kills herself (I'm going off the theory that Mado dies at the end and that we CAN figure it out) We'd have to assume that her life isn't mundane at all the only way to know why is to explore her dreams and find meaning in them.
Also, I forgot to mention the Nexus. It's another place with lack of music and notice at the end, we put all the effects there. What this exactly signifies, I've yet to determine, but it most certainly isn't anything nice.
Now another thing to note, is KIKIYAMA's website itself in 'support' of my theory about the silence thing.
One thing you notice is that he has (or rather, had) a Mysound page, which is a japanese music store place. With this we can assume KIKIYAMA is primarily into with music. Any good musician will tell you that the silence between the notes is just as important as notes themselves. If KIKIYAMA is worth a damn musically, he'd know this.
Take this interview from the musical creator of Silent Hill whom discusses this a little more:

Gist of it (Since there wasn't that much of it anyways):
>Takeaway: Silence can often be more effective than noise, depending on how it is used. Understanding how humans digest and process sound can help audio designers create something that is more powerful and memorable.
That is why I think this has a significance and possibly strengthens the theory that something is wrong with Mado and that she actually kills herself at the end.
