I was doing some reading after a thread compared Takofuusen to a Twin reversed arterial perfusion affected fetus. A search on Google revealed this. It looks disturbingly familiar.so maybe FACE is a distorted hallucination of a vaguely-remembered ultrasound of a deformed baby. and because theories about this game require it... it probably was Mado's rapebaby.

It DOES look like it. Good job with that findingIt's easier to think of FACE as a shocking event like that. I guess it makes sense, seeing as it produces such a strong effect on Mado it boots her out of ther dream world. Imagine how she felt when she found out

so up till now I had been thinking FACE looked like a dick, and didn't know what to make of Takofuusen.I saw the TRAP thing and then this...Let's see... Mars-san looks like a fetus... decapitated pregnant ladies... The chicken/egg thing in the background of Graffiti world... So we now we can say Madotsuki either has a fear of babies or of having a deformed baby or possibly just of parenthood in general (lol this reminds me of Eraserhead). And apparently there is something resembling a Mesoamerican fertility goddess in YN's backgrounds.Say what if the clinic place where you meet Tokuto and the flute player was an abortion clinic?

>>2386On the TRAP syndrome thread I actually thought up a theory that seemed to fit really nicely to me. It's in this post >>2183And fuck, it just got a whole lot better. You're a fucking genius, and for that you get a prize picThe guy below me in that thread jokingly said we had to find a way to like Masada to FACE. You just didI initially thought Mars-san's abortion would be due to a miscarriage of some sort, but an voluntary abortion fits so much better. FACE as the ultrasound where she and Masada saw what she had in her womb, the crash in the barren planet as they realised that she wasn't carrying a healthy baby, the decapitated pregnant monsters as the guilt she felt over this, crying Mars-san changing between 2 eye colors as he's stabbed, marking the incapability of knowing where one twin began and the other ended during the abortion...For the first time ever since seeing the FACE event, I honestly don't think Mado's been raped at all

>>2387Hoo boy, that pic made me laugh and I was glad I was of assistance here. FFFFFFFFFF, what if we tie this into the Mesoamerican symbology (assuming it's not induced by her carpet) by Madotsuki thinking that the reason for her deformity is the curse of a primitive fertility goddess? It's not out of the realm of possibility for her to be superstitious. Aaaaaand Aztec Rave Monkey just became sinister.

>>2390But of course. I mean, I have no idea about whether it was a curse or not, but the fact is Aztec/Mesoamerican themes are constantly present throughout YN, more so than any other culturally relevant imagery. If in this situation she thought about a God that she would turn to/blame for what happened, it's quite natural to assume it'd be an Aztec god as wellCome to think of it, I don't even know if there's any cultural imagery in YN other than AztecEDIT:Also, why did the rave monkey become sinister? Got a new theory on what he's supposed to be? Last edited 11/02/04(Fri)09:10.

>>2392 Yes, yes he does. Reread his post more carefully - speculating that Mado is blaming the deformation on the curse of a mesoamerican fertility goddess, represented in-game as Nevergod the Aztec Rave Monkey.
>>2398Major facepalm right there. Didn't recall the goddess in the background was the aztec rave monkey. Thanks

wait a minute... twins... red and blue?Suppose for a moment Mado did let it happen and they saved the healthy twin... What if Monoko/Monoe represents the twins?Or maybe, after the abortion, she saw a news bit on Lakshmi Tatma, and realizes she could have saved her baby, instead of aborting it? And she probably got brow-beaten by pro-lifers about what she did... So she may have developed serious guilt over having "killed" her children, and Monoko dancing around is what she sees constantly reminding her that she did something terrible?Or maybe the healthy twin had an accident, possibly along with Masada, and Madotsuki saw the corpses... and made another connection to a curse or to a possible "ghost" of the parasitic twin (represented as death chime jelly) claiming it's sibling's life?...and then she plays her daughter's favorite videogame out of grief while she isolates herself from the world feeling like she messed up big-time...

>>2407Then why would she need the stoplight effect to see Monoko's true form?As far as guilt goes I can pretty much say I agree with you. We have the Uterus monsters, the eyes in the dark forest, probably a few more I'm not remembering.. They're all quite blatantly pointing at unwanted attention. Linking it with this supposed abortion is a natural step. It might also be that she just believed people thought badly of her, without having ever actually received any negative attentionAbout Monoe... Well, I can't say for sure whether she could or not have been her child, but I think Mado must be far too young to have a daughter that age (Monoe looks at LEAST 14, and I feel like that's stretching it a bit)I guess we could use that bit of the theory and think that Mado created Monoe as an idealized image of the daughter she could have had if she had tried and saved her healthy baby. Fits well with the fleetingness of the event during which we see her face

someone noted the red and blue eyes on Tasei san could represent the two twins and not knowing where one began and one ended, so the stoplight Monoko might be representative of the parasitic twin and the normal Monoko might be the healthy one.Alternatively Madotsuki has had a number of kids, heck, siblings, if you really want to think she's young... one ended up with extra limbs due to a parasitic twin (Monoko), one was aborted or stillborn due to TRAP (Takofuusen), and...Actually, maybe I'm dragging too much into this. I'm calling it quits for a bit. Will come back to see what everyone else has gotten

>>2409That was me mate, the red and blue eyes bitI've always believed the Monochrome world was Mado's dream version of the real world, and the creatures/events there have a stronger and more direct link to events that took place in her lifeIn other words, the thing in common about everything in the monochrome worlds would be they were all seen/experienced by Mado herself in a real-world context, and are still present in her mind in a more pristine form than those in other areas. This doesn't mean some of those events aren't connected, of course, but there's no need to put all the monochrome desert events in this theoryThat aside, how old do you think she is?

>>2410She looks young, but her appearance is effected by the chibi art style,If she's old enough to live alone, she might be around her late teens to early twenties.
