Listen...
What if this game is a tribute to the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Think of everything... The body parts strewn around. The disfigurement. Possible references to birth defects. The Jellyfish-angels (yes, I call them that,) look like red mushroom clouds when on their sides. The bird-people might be Americans or people suffering from radiation poisoning. The tv gets no reception. The sky is bleak and grey. Maybe she took refuge in a closet, and knew what was outside so didn't go out. That's why she got sleep paralysis from opening the door in "KyuKyu-kun"'s room.
Some other theories could still apply this way, also. Masada could still Madotsuki's piano teacher; Monoe could still be a friend who moved away. Remember, we could have dreams about being killed on the moon when we don't fear space travel. You need random things to make it dreamlike.
The reason Madotsuki has a game system is a way of saying, "This could be you someday. This is an allegory for a normal person."
Also... in the area you can she the flying, bloody severed head from the white desert, there are two fires on the way, monochrome, frozen in time, that cannot be put out by rain or snow.
