I'm sure people other than myself are more aware of our actual game progress... And I hoped that they might say something first, but what the heck, I'll give it a shot.
First things first: Glad you're back, Makku.
Second, as far as I can tell, actual progress is still minimal. Some sprites, a tileset or two, and a collection of music seem to be the only things actually put together. Everything else is still conceptual, to varying degrees of completion.
As for your other question, I can't seem to remember the arguments for and against RPG Maker 2003, but I'm sure that they exist and that they are valid. I'm not the one to ask.
... Well, this seems as good a place as any for my spiel: I'd love to help with the actual progress of this project in any way I can. Spriting, area design, what have you, if someone will teach me how to create, I will do so.
